District 1-D Newsletter
September 2019
A word from your Governor…
Greetings Fellow Lions,
The month of August, and to this point in September, there has been a lot going on. I
have been able to visit 8 clubs; Thomson, Rockton, Amboy, Shannon, Chadwick, Dixon Noon,
Tampico, and Mt. Carroll. While I was in Chadwick, I had the honor of being able to induct five
new members to their club.
On September 7th
, the Candy Day Jamboree was held at the Center for Sight and Hearing,
where participating Lions were treated to tours of the new facility. Then on the 12th
The Center
had an Open House and Ribbon Cutting, which drew quite the crowd.
There has been one Zone Meeting so far, with more to come in the coming weeks. Please
consider attending one of these meetings as it is a good way to meet Lions from other clubs
nearby, and share ideas.
At this time as a District we have gained 13 new members, but have lost 24, so please
continue to go out and bring in new members. Got someone on the fence about joining? Invite
them to a service activity, a social outing the club puts on, a fundraising activity. Find out their
interests and show them how they can apply them to Lions. In a world-wide organization there is
something for everyone.
In closing I would like to thank everyone for all that you are doing to serve your
communities.
Together, Nothing is Impossible
*** PCC Paul Lindstrom is still recovering from some health issues that has kept him from being able to work on
his computer, so as you may have noticed this months’ newsletter has a different look. Wishing PCC Paul and his
family all the best and hopefully all will be back to “normal” next month.
