The Distribution Line range of portable earthing equipment is suitable for temporary earthing of conductors within the range 11 to 66kV. A range of DLE kits is available and a selection is shown. Alternatively, we can create DLE kits to suit specific requirements from the range of components shown in the leaflet. The major components consist of line end clamps, phase leads made from aluminum aluflex or copper conductors, pole mounted cluster bar and terminal plates, down leads, earth rods and earth end clamps. These are fitted to a conductor using operating poles and operating sockets, all of which can be held in a range of carry bags for ease of transportation. The two major line end clamps are the S9B range which operates as a ’ hook on‘ and ‘screw up’ style and the CE62 which is a quick snap on and release version. A down lead connected to an earth end clamp then connects to a copper clad earth rod or to an earth point. DLE/1 The fibreglass operating pole is attached to the conductor clamp with the use of an operating socket. The whole assembly can then be raised and applied to the mid conductor of the 3 phase overhead line. On tightening of the central clamp, the operating pole is removed and used to locate the other conductor clamps with interconnecting phase leads on the cluster bar. It is then applied in turn to the two other overhead lines. DLE/2In contrast to the cluster bar arrangement it is often preferred to employ a terminal plate which can either be �tted to the pole via strap or hung from the cross arm. The DLE/2 kit can be supplied to suit 3, 4 or 5 wire (3 phase) assemblies. The application procedure is similar to the DLE/1 kit except the whole assembly is supported by a terminal plate on the pole and the individual line end clamps are connected in turn to the conductor.
11kV KitThe 11kV standard distribution line earthing kit is supplied with a spring loaded snap on clamp (CE62) as standard. The 3 phases are connected to the earth lead through the terminal plate.
33kV Kit The 33kV standard distribution line earthing kit is supplied with a parking bar, S9B clamps with a short taper operating screw, orange alu�ex earth leads and an earth end clamp.
Earth Nest KitEarth nest kits are also available. The kit contains four 850mm copper bonded earth rods connected to four 50 sq. mm alu�ex leads and brass spilt connectors which connect to a terminal plate.
