You know the teacher we’re talking about.
The one who took your brain in hand and challenged you.
The one who believed in you
(even when you didn’t really
believe in yourself).
The one who said just the right thing (sometimes even with words).
The one who saw what you were capable of (and wouldn’t settle for less).
The one who would not be at all surprised
to find out just how amazing your life has become.
The one who knew you could do it.
The one you think about whenever you hear the word
“teacher.”
