OverviewOverview• Complements mailing of physical samples for evaluation,

using Web form and digital images.

• Versatile and expandable to other disciplines, states and countries.

• Initially developed by Plant Pathology Department and Office of Information Technology with extramural funding; now produced by the Center for Internet Imaging & Database Systems (CIIDS)

• Our focus: to produce a system that is easy to use, supportable, facilitates diagnostics, and is easily replicated.

Counties in greengreen currently have full Imaging Stations.

All counties have hand-held digital cameras and Internet access.

Roles of Participants Roles of Participants & Technology& Technology

• Faculty with appropriate responsibilities produce images of specimens and submit DDDI samples.

• Diagnostic faculty in participating departments access DDDI samples and submit appropriate evaluations, recommendations and comments.

• The Web-based system uses forms designed by each discipline to collect environmental and specific sample information, and up to five images.
