Rejected Items

These items were rejected because they did not feel necessary or essential to be of presence within the photo shoot, and did not add to the authenticity, character and personality of the Soul group.

The hats may have perhaps worked rather well with the attire of ‘The Teachers’, however I do not feel it was a key piece of clothing that would’ve boosted their appeal anymore than them not wearing the items.

The shades just felt like an unnecessary gimmick to their outfits and I didn’t believe it truly fitted their style, so this was dismissed more quickly to the prior item.

This prop was rejected as it seemed to be overdoing the stereotypes of the mise-en-scene with the Soul genre, and even though its possible to find a few artists who carry one, there are not many and I didn’t feel it would be appropriate to place this kind of group holding one. I do not want to create an exaggerated portrayal of the genre, I am instead aiming for authenticity and originality.

This prop was rejected simply due to the unavailability of it, so we instead had to make do with the resources we had to make up for the absence of the saxophone.
