y Both are prepositions

y Both are used to describe the location of a noun/ nouns.

y The preposition ¶in· is used to indicate the location of someone at a

particular of time.

She was in the library when I called her.(¶in· conveys the meaning of ¶well within·)

y The preposition ¶at· is used to indicate the proximity of nearness of

something.

The lady was at the gate.

(¶at· does not convey the meaning of ¶well within·)

y As a matter of fact both the prepositions are used in phrases. These

phrases too give different meanings according to the context. The

common idea with which these two prepositions are used is to

describe the location of the noun.

I would choose Learn A Craft during the school holidays

because I love craftworks very much. The activity will be

held on 17 November from 8.00a.m. to 1.00p.m. I will be

free on that date so I do not have any problems to join this

activity. Though four hours are short period of time, it canbe a good starter for me. The activity will be held in Town

Hall. I am very lucky because the place is just a stoned s

throw away from my house. I can easily reach the place

within minutes. The fee that I have to pay is RM 30 per

person. It is worth paying because I believe that I will learn

a lot of things there. The instructor is Encik Adam. He is

the great artist because he is a creative and innovative

person.

Based on the above reasons, I am sure that this is the

best choice for me.

I would choose Design a T-Shirt as an activity during

school holidays because it is a unique activity. The date for

this activity is 16 December. I do not have any problems

because I have nothing to do on the date. It will be held

from 9.00a.m. to 12.00p.m. Though it is just 3-houractivity, I believe that I can learn a lot of things there. The

venue to run this activity is in Creative Centre. It is just a

walking distance from my house. Therefore, I can there by

myself. The fee is RM 25 per person. It is reasonable and

affordable. It is worth paying. The instructor is Miss

Wong. She is among the best designers in Malaysia. Hence,

I would try my best to learn from her.

Based on the above reasons, I believe this is the best

choice for me.

during school holidays because it is worth joining. I have

learnt to bake cookies before so I guess this is the time for

me to learn baking cakes especially cupcakes. This activity is

held on 18 November from 9.30a.m. to 1.30p.m. I will be

free on that day and at that particular time. Though it justa four-hour session, I believe that I can learn a lot. The

place to do this activity is in Magic Cake House. The place

is very near to my house. I can reach there in five minutes

time. The fee is RM 40.00 per person. Though it is quite

expensive, it is worth paying. Chef Devan is the instructor

for this activity. He is a very well-known chef in Malaysia.

I am sure that he would share his knowledge and experience

with me and the other members. Based on the above

reasons, I believe I have made the perfect choice.

Kim and Myrna are good friends. They always

share something in common. Both of them are

animal lovers and have cats as their pets. Kim

calls her cat, Comel while Myrna calls her cat,

Patches. Both cats are cute and playful. Kim andMyrna always spend their time with their cats and

will let them play with each other. They take

good care of their cats.

Last Saturday,Kim and Myrna decided to

bring their cats to the garden near their

neighbourhood. When they were there, both cats

played together while Kim and Myrna chatted at

the bench provided in the garden.



Though, both of them were busy chatting, they

kept their eyes to the pets. Even the cats were

playing running here and there in the garden. Just

after a moment, Comel suddenly ran towards a

tree. It was purring all the way and it was tryingto climb the tree. It saw a bird. It wanted to

catch the bird that was perching on one of the

branches of the tree. Both Kim and Myrna ran to

Comel. However before Kim was able to take

Comel into her arms, that furry creature managed

to climb the tree and was there on the branch.

Before it could make a move, the bird flew away

leaving Comel there.



Comel could not make a move on the branch. Itseemed that it was not easy for it to jump down

from the tree. Kim was very frightened to see

the incident. While Kim was figuring out how to

rescue the poor little creature, Myrna ran to her

brother who happened to jog around the garden.She asked for his help. Without wasting time,

Myrnad s brother came to Comeld s rescue at

once. He climbed up the tree and managed to

take the cat. He gave the cat to Kim. Kim

thanke him for saving the cat. She hugge the

cat an stroke it lovingly. She was happy

because Comel was safe. She promise that she

woul be more alert next time.
