GrantsGrants are non-repayable funds or products disbursed , often a nonprofit entity, educational institution, business or an individual. In order to receive a grant, some form of "Grant Writing" often referred to as either a proposal or an application is required
Matching grant A grant that is made to match funds provided by another donor
DonorAn individual or organization that makes a grant or contribution to a donee. Also known as the grantor or grant maker.
Donee The recipient of a grant. Also known as a grantee or a beneficiary.
Opportunity (Donation)Rollups
It is the cumulated totals for something like donations over a period of time. Some examples include Total Number of Gifts, Total Household Gifts, Soft Credits This Year, and so on.
Soft Credit It is a credit for a donation that someone did not actually make themselves, but acted as an “influencer” of the donation, rather than as the direct donor.
Matching gift A matching gift, also known as a matching fund or matching donation is a charitable gift made towards a Non-Profit Organization by a matching donor (e.g., an employer) under the provision that an original donor (e.g., an employee) first makes a gift toward that organization
PledgeA signed and dated commitment to make a gift over a specified period, generally two or more years, payable according to terms set by the donor, with scheduled monthly, quarterly, semi - annual, or annual payments.
In-Kind Gifts In-kind gifts are contributions of goods or services, other than cash grants. Corporations are a common source of in-kind gifts, which are offered along with, or in lieu of, cash grants.
