We are excited to host this event and welcome the entire Texas commu-nity to discover “The In-ternational U.”
Children will have the opportunity to take part
in hands-on activities in our musical sessions, color-ful performances, and challenging brain twisters; teens will experience what it takes to become a true Dustdevil and learn how to conquer the world with education and a little motivation; parents and college readiness professionals will be taken through a whirlwind of useful information that will prepare them to be college-savvy; and commu-nity members will have a chance to meet our gift-ed faculty, students and the leaders of tomorrow.

I am excited to welcome you to “Discover TAMIU,” our daylong celebration of all things Texas A&M International University.
At “Discover TAMIU,” you’ll tap into the Dust-devil Spirit and learn about how these 300 acres are home to infinite possibilities for all. When you discover The Inter-national U, you’ll learn
about a world-class education, delivered by a gift-ed faculty. You’ll learn about a campus that dai-ly radiates culture and knowledge, tradition and cutting-edge discovery. You’ll explore five differ-ent pathways that will take you from classroom to boardroom and from laboratory to the very heav-ens above.
Our guiding wish is that “Discover TAMIU” grows to become a cherished event where we all gather each year to celebrate, to be inspired, and to be challenged to discover more and more.

Welcome to Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas! TAMIU is home to over 7,500 students, hundreds of faculty and staff, and passionate administra-tors who all want you to experience firsthand all that our campus offers. During Discover TAMIU, the University will be a hub of activities with hundreds of guests from all across Texas and northern Mexico. Parking is available throughout campus at no charge, but designated parking lots that require permits should be noted. Please observe posted signs as they relate to fire lanes or those that require special permits.
Using the lots at the University Village and the Residential Learning Community should be avoided as these are reserved for students living in these complexes.

PARKING FOR BUSESThe drop off location for large groups has been designated as the Student Center, accessed from Entrance 3 if traveling from south to north on Loop 20 or Entrance 1 if entering through University Boulevard. After dropping off students in the designated area, all buses should depart and use the parking lot at the Zaffirini Success Center (University Success Center) located on the south side of campus.

INFORMATION CENTERS
Information Centers will be located throughout campus to help guests and visitors navigate their way through campus and provide information on programs and activities. These centers will be denoted with a on the map for easy guidance. Each center can provide general information on the nearest restroom facilities, building locations, and a printed program schedule.

Rain, shine, cold, or hot is nothing new to TAMIU and activities and programs will continue as planned across campus. Most events will continue in their designated areas, but some may be moved to alternate locations. In case of movements or changes, signs will be posted at the original location indicating where the activity has moved.

Restroom facilities can be found in every campus building and on each floor.
RESTROOMSWC
A first aid station can be found in the Student Center facing the parking lot to the west. It will be available for minor injuries and will help coordinate efforts should an emergency arise.
FIRST AID
Deer, javelinas, birds and other wildlife are frequently seen throughout campus. Please remember that these animals are in their habitat and should not be considered to be tame, as friendly as they appear. While we welcome you to take pictures of them, take precaution to not get too close or chase them, as they may feel threatened. Extra measures should be taken with children who may confuse them with pets.

If you or a guest has lost something while visiting TAMIU, please return to the location where you believe you may have left it. If it is not there or you cannot remember when you last saw your item, please visit the Information Desk located in the Student Center.

Aramark, the University’s food service provider, is proud to offer numerous options for guests attending Discover TAMIU. The following locations offer an array of options for children of all ages and adults:

Discover TAMIU is only a one-day event, but come with your group of friends, classmates or family so you can relive the memory for years to come. Group pictures will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. only.
