LONGEVITY

AAL manufactures all its

products to have a life span as

long as the buildings or spaces

they illuminate. The primary

material used for all our products

is aluminum to resist corrosion

and the need for maintenance.

Aluminum will not need the

periodic refinishing required of

steel products that will eventually

parts and fasteners are made

allows on-site refinement of the light

same luminaire. The Oculus Nano is also

The Oculus® allows you to adjust to changing project conditions due to changes of

setbacks, fixture positions, and lighting levels. The parabolic reflector, with adjustable

focusing, provides variable beam patterns all in one fixture. For the Oculus Small, the

reflector can achieve a 10° spot to a 78° wide flood distribution. The Oculus Nano is field

adjustable only through lamp or reflector changes.

EXTERNAL FOCUSING

Final adjustment of the light to illuminate in

just the right way is easy. There is no need

to disassemble the Oculus® to adjust the

beam pattern.

An adjustment screw on the exterior of the

fixture allows for easy, on site focusing for

a small tight beam to a larger spot pattern.

This also ensures the spread lens is in the

proper position when adjusting the beam.

The parabolic reflector with an axial lamp

orientation provides:

• A precise, parallel beam to direct the

light to where you want it.

• A concentrated beam for more center

beam punch and highlighting.

• Less stray, uncontrolled side light

reduces glare.

• Higher reflector efficiency means

more light output from the same

lamp wattage.

OTHER HORIZONTAL FLOODLIGHTS

• Baffles used to attempt control of

stray light reduce the efficiency of the

fixture.

• The lower portion of the lamp lumens

are lost or redirected into the lamp

arc tube decreasing the

lamp life.

• Less beam control with an

HOUSING

The fixture housing is die cast aluminum. The front cover

is secured with four cap screws for relamping and internal

access. The front glass element is clear, tempered glass.

The front cover and electrical module are sealed with

memory retentive, extruded silicone gaskets. The lamp

module swivels 105 degrees by loosening one stainless steel

cap screw. Rotation is a full 360 degrees with a cam lock

stop, by loosening four set screws. All internal and external

hardware is stainless steel.

OPTICAL MODULE

The R111 features a built in reflector composed of faceted

aluminum. The mini mastercolour features a high specular,

convex faceted round reflector made of aluminum. The LED

component features Ledil® optics, an optical grade PC with

high UV and temperature resistance. Internal accessories

are installed between the reflector and inside cover.

ELECTRICAL MODULE

The ballast is mounted directly onto the die-cast housing

and wired with a quick disconnect plug and removed by

loosening two screws. Electronic metal halide ballasts are

rated for -30°C starting, sound rating A. Sockets are pulse

rated porcelain, bi-pin, GX8.5 for R111 and PGJ5 for mini

mastercolour. Wired at the factory for 277 volts, unless

specified.

FINISH

Fixture finish consists of a five stage pretreatment regimen with

a polymer primer sealer, oven dry off and top coated with a

thermoset super TGIC polyester powder coat finish. The finish

shall meet the AAMA 605.2 performance specification which

includes passing a 3000 hour salt spray test for corrosion

resistance.

INSTALLATION

The bottom of the ballast housing has a solid brass 1/2" NPT

nipple. The housing has four 0.300 inch knockouts for other

means of mounting.

EISA COMPLIANCE

AAL is committed to complying with U.S. EISA requirements. All

applicable products manufactured for sale in the United States

after January 1, 2009, meet EISA requirements.

CERTIFICATION

The fixture is listed with ETL for outdoor, wet location use,

UL1598 and Canadian CSA Std. C22.2 no.250. IP=66

WARRANTY

Fixture is warranted for three years, or five years for LED

models. Ballast components carry the ballast manufacturer’s

limited warranty. Any unauthorized return, repair, replacement

or modification of the Product(s) shall void this warranty. This

warranty applies only to the use of the Product(s) as intended

by AAL and does not cover any misapplication or misuse

of said Product(s), or installation in hazardous or corrosive

environments. Contact AAL for complete warranty language,

exceptions, and limitations.

HOUSING

The fixture housing is die cast aluminum. The front cover is secured with four cap screws for relamping and internal access. The front glass element is clear, tempered glass. The front cover and electrical module are sealed with memory retentive, molded silicone gaskets. The lamp module swivels 105 degrees by loosening two stainless steel cap screws. Rotation is a full 360 degrees with a cam lock stop by loosening three set screws. All internal and external hardware is stainless steel.

OPTICAL MODULE

The parabolic reflector is spun aluminum, polished and anodized, and snaps into the front cover with three stainless steel spring clips. The LED component features Ledil® optics, an optical grade PC with high UV and temperature resistance. Internal accessories are installed between the reflector and inside cover. The adjustable socket assembly is mounted to the back of the lamp housing. The socket can be adjusted from the exterior of the fixture by turning an adjustment screw.

ELECTRICAL MODULE

The ballast is mounted on a prewired plate with a quick disconnect plug and removed by loosening two screws. Electronic metal halide ballasts are rated for -30°C starting, sound rating A. Sockets are pulse rated porcelain, bi-pin, G12 for T-6 metal halide lamps. Compact fluorescent sockets are 4 pin, GX24q-3,4 with an electronic ballast, -18°C starting. Wired at the factory for 277 volts, unless specified.

FINISH

Fixture finish consists of a five stage pretreatment regimen with a polymer primer sealer, oven dry off and top coated with a thermoset super TGIC polyester powder coat finish. The finish shall meet the AAMA 605.2 performance specification which includes passing a 3000 hour salt spray test for corrosion resistance.

INSTALLATION

The bottom of the ballast housing has a solid brass 1/2" NPT nipple. The deep housings have two knockouts for other means of mounting.

EISA COMPLIANCE

AAL is committed to complying with U.S. EISA requirements. All applicable products manufactured for sale in the United States after January 1, 2009, meet EISA requirements.

CERTIFICATION

The fixture is listed with ETL for outdoor, wet location use, UL1598 and Canadian CSA Std. C22.2 no.250. IP=66

WARRANTY

Fixture is warranted for three years, or five years for LED models. Ballast components carry the ballast manufacturer’s limited warranty. Any unauthorized return, repair, replacement or modification of the Product(s) shall void this warranty. This warranty applies only to the use of the Product(s) as intended by AAL and does not cover any misapplication or misuse of said Product(s), or installation in hazardous or corrosive environments.
