Disc Golf Course ProposalCommunity Park

Description• The City of Huber Heights Parks and Recreation Board is

proposing the installation of a 9-hole disc golf course in Community Park. Total cost of the project is estimated at just over $9,000.00.

• The installation of a disc golf course would be a statement of committed development of recreational activities in the southern part of town, in light of the new developments taking place in the north. Having a course in Huber Heights of this style will also allow for tournaments to be held that may further promote the ideals of making the Heights a destination for families.

What is Disc Golf?• Played much like traditional golf.• Throw discs into a supported metal basket.• The goal is to complete the course in the fewest number of

shots.• Anyone can play and the cost for equipment (discs) is minimal.

Construction Planned for Community Park• 9-hole course would include the construction of tees and

installation of signs and baskets.• No plants or trees would need to be removed.• Each hole would have one tee (concrete).• Signage for navigation around the course.• Future maintenance is fairly minimal-grass cutting and trash

collection.

Course Layout

Community Benefits & Support• Recreation-meets the recreational needs of young and old.• Possible tournaments.

• Safety-would increase foot traffic at the park.• Conservation-green space for recreational purposes.• The Dayton Disc Golf Association has reviewed the proposal

and expressed their support.
