1 Dear Parents and Guardians, Welcome to the 2020-21 Marching Band Season. Your student has joined over 150 other students in what will be a historic year for the Carolina Forest High School Marching Band. The largest band in Carolina Forest High School history has been invited to perform in the 2020 Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade where we will perform on national TV for millions of viewers! The band will then travel to New York City for two days of taking in the sights and sounds. We will also travel to two Bands of America competitions, compete at several local events, and finish up competing at the state 5A competition in Columbia. This year all new members, guard and percussionists are required to attend a four-day rookie camp on June 8- 11. All members will attend band camp on July 20-24, July 27-31 and August 3-7th. Everyone must attend all camp days and all fall practices after school. This year’s band fee is $950.00 per student. This covers all trips including hotel rooms. We will be fundraising starting in February and will have several fundraisers available for your student to pay much of their band fees. We are also offering everyone the opportunity to get outside sponsorships from family, friends and businesses. Half of every sponsorship goes directly to your students account up to the full amount of their band fees. This is a great opportunity for each student to completely have band fees paid in full. We will have a limited number of partial scholarships available for students. Students who are awarded scholarships are expected to participate in as many fundraisers as possible in addition to contributing volunteer hours (family and friends are encouraged to contribute as well). As mentioned above, it is truly an exciting time for our organization. We are growing quickly in numbers and quality. I encourage parents and guardians to get involved in the boosters. We need manpower help at all our events including our home football games and the visitor side concession stand. Please visit our website for additional information at www.cfhsbands.com Should you have any additional questions, feel free to contact me. Sincerely, Mark Roddy Director of Bands and Ensembles [email protected] 843-236-7997

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2020-21 Marching Band Season. Your student has joined over 150 other students in what will

be a historic year for the Carolina Forest High School Marching Band.

The largest band in Carolina Forest High School history has been invited to perform in the 2020 Philadelphia

Thanksgiving Day Parade where we will perform on national TV for millions of viewers! The band will then travel

to New York City for two days of taking in the sights and sounds. We will also travel to two Bands of America

competitions, compete at several local events, and finish up competing at the state 5A competition in Columbia.

This year all new members, guard and percussionists are required to attend a four-day rookie camp on June 8-

11. All members will attend band camp on July 20-24, July 27-31 and August 3-7th. Everyone must attend all

camp days and all fall practices after school.

This year’s band fee is $950.00 per student. This covers all trips including hotel rooms. We will be fundraising

starting in February and will have several fundraisers available for your student to pay much of their band fees.

We are also offering everyone the opportunity to get outside sponsorships from family, friends and businesses.

Half of every sponsorship goes directly to your students account up to the full amount of their band fees. This

is a great opportunity for each student to completely have band fees paid in full.

We will have a limited number of partial scholarships available for students. Students who are awarded

scholarships are expected to participate in as many fundraisers as possible in addition to contributing volunteer

hours (family and friends are encouraged to contribute as well).

As mentioned above, it is truly an exciting time for our organization. We are growing quickly in numbers and

quality. I encourage parents and guardians to get involved in the boosters. We need manpower help at all our

events including our home football games and the visitor side concession stand.

Dear Perspective Sponsor, The Carolina Forest High School Marching Band is accepting sponsors for the 2020-21 season. We would like to invite you to help us as we embark on our biggest season ever. The largest band in Carolina Forest High School history has been invited to perform in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, travel to two Bands of America competitions, compete at several local events, host a competition, compete at the state competition in Columbia and play at home football games. Your sponsorship will be prominently displayed as we travel thousands of miles this year! Under the direction and vision of our band director, Mark Roddy, the students work tirelessly to achieve their musical goals. As you can imagine, these goals come with financial requirements that are as challenging as the music and drill they learn each season! We would like to ask for your help. Each student is responsible for about $1,000 in band fees for the 2020-21 season. We offer several scholarships to students that are unable to meet the financial requirement. Your sponsorship of a full or partial scholarship would be greatly appreciated. As you can see on the attached sponsorship form, your donation is tax deductible and comes with recognition as a sponsor on many platforms. Please consider being a part of our biggest season ever – your sponsorship will help nearly 200 musicians in your community as they challenge themselves at local and national and events. Please visit our website at www.cfhsbands.com to learn more about our impressive accomplishments and see our upcoming events that you will be a part of as our sponsor. Sincerely, Carolina Forest High School Marching Panthers
