DIRECTIONS FOR STUDENTS MID-TERM EXAMINATIONS 1. Students do not report to homeroom during Mid-Term Examination week; students report to the room assigned for each exam. 2. Get the date, time and room for each Mid-Term examination from each of your teachers and write this information in your Agenda Book. It is YOUR responsibility to be in the correct room at the correct time. 3. Be on time for each Mid-Term examination; no extra time is given to students who arrive late. 4. School uniforms must be worn each examination day. 5. NOTHING can be brought into the examination room except pens, pencils, and, if required, a calculator or ruler. 6. No backpacks or outside clothing can be brought to the examination room; keep these in your locker. 7. NO PHONES CAN BE BROUGHT INTO THE EXAMINATION ROOM FOR ANY REASON; possession of a phone in an exam room will earn you a “0” as the grade for the examination and ruin your GPA and Class Rank. 8. Be sure to do your own work on your examinations and to keep your eyes on your own papers. Students reported as cheating will have their exam grade changed to “0.” 9. Students should report to the first exam at 7:50 a.m. and the second exam at 10:15 a.m. All exams are 90 minutes; you must stay for the entire 90 minutes. Students only need to be at school if they have an examination scheduled. Students taking the Living Environment Regents Exam on Monday afternoon should bring a lunch to school with them and a place will be provided for them to eat before the Exam begins. All other students should be off campus by 12:30 each day. 10. Take care of yourself and stay healthy. If you are sick for an examination, you must come to school on Friday, January 26, a day off for all students, and take your Make-Up examination. 11. Buses will leave at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, Tuesday, Jan. 23, Wednesday, Jan. 24, and Thursday, Jan. 25. There will be no bus service for the Living Environment Regents examination and on Friday, Jan. 26. Your Next Report Card 1. Your next report card will show three new columns: 2 nd Quarter, Mid-Term Exam, and Mid-Year Grade. 2. Although the minimum grade for the 2 nd Quarter will be “55,” there is no minimum grade for the Mid- Term exam. You will get the grade you earn on the exam. This could ruin your GPA which is cumulative and Class Rank. 3. The Mid-Year Grade is calculated this way: 40% 1 st Quarter + 40% 2 nd Quarter + 20% Mid-Term Exam. 4. Your GPA and Class Rank will be recalculated for this report card and the new GPA and Class Rank will be printed on the report card. 5. Report cards will be distributed at Parent-Teacher Conferences on February 8, 2018.
