Sveučilište u Zagrebu Tekstilno-tehnološki fakultet (ttf) je međunarodno priznata akademska, obrazovna i istraživačka institucija u polju tekstilne tehnologije. ttf potiče i provodi istraživanja u području tehničkih, prirodnih i društveno humanističkih znanosti te u umjetničkom području.
Studijski program Tekstilni i modni dizajn prilagođen je promjenama u svjetskoj modnoj industriji te potrebama studenata za razvijanjem potrebnih vještina i kompetencija. U skladu sa smjernicama propisanim Bolonjskom deklaracijom, ttf je 2005. godine uveo trogodišnji preddiplomski studij te dvogodišnji diplomski studij tekstilnog i modnog dizajna.
Zbog interdisciplinarnog karaktera tekstilnog, industrijskog i modnog dizajna te potrebe za integralnim obrazovanjem studenata, ttf primijenjuje razne tehnološke, znanstvene, dizajnerske i umjetničke pristupe u izvođenju nastave na kolegijima tekstilnog i modnog dizajna kao što su crtanje i slikanje, povijest mode i odijevanja, povijest umjetnosti i modne ilustracije, u kombinaciji s teorijskom nastavom iz vizualnih komunikacija, estetike, sociologije mode te ekonomike i upravljanja marketingom tekstila i odjeće. Ovakav ustroj studijskih programa uspostavlja ravnotežu između tehnološkog, umjetničkog, društvenog i humanističkog pristupa i temeljnog obrazovanja u području modnog dizajna. Različiti studijski smjerovi omogućuju studentima da usavršavaju vještine i kompetencije u skladu s željenom profesionalnom orijentacijom i vlastitim interesima.
Organizacija studijskih programa i kurikulum su usklađeni sa suvremenim svjetskim trendovima. Program se odvija na visokoj znanstvenoj, umjetničkoj i stručnoj razini te sadržajno u skladu sa svjetskim
trendovima, no istodobno omogućuje studentima da izraze individualnu kreativnost koja je ključna u ovakvoj vrsti obrazovanja. Usklađenost studijskih programa s europskim i svjetskim studijskim razinama, kao i otvorena suradnja s europskim sveučilištima i studijima tekstilnog i modnog dizajna podržavaju studentske razmjene koje studentima omogućuju slušanje kolegija i nastavak obrazovanja u inozemstvu.
Jedna od ključnih metoda demonstracije stečenih znaja i vještina u ovim studijskim programima su završni radovi koje studenti predstavljaju u suradnji s nastavnicima sudjelovanjem u internim i javnim modnim revijama i ostalim oblicima umjetničkih i modnih manifestacija. University of Zagreb Faculty of Textile Technology (ttf) is an internationally recognized academic, educational and research institution in the field of textile technology and fashion design. The ttf endorses and conducts research in the field of technical and natural sciences, along with research in humanities and social sciences and art.
The study programme of Textile and Fashion Design is adapted to changes and trends in the global fashion industry and students’ needs in developing required skills and competences. In accordance with the guidelines proposed by the Bologna Declaration, the ttf introduced a three-year undergraduate and two-year graduate study programme of Textile and Fashion Design.
Due to the interdisciplinary character of textile, industrial and fashion design and the need for an integral education of students, the ttf combines different technological, scientific, design and artistic approaches in organizing courses in textile and fashion design, such as drawing and painting, history of clothing and fashion, history of art and fashion illustration, combined with theoretical courses such as theories of visual communication, esthetics, fashion sociology, economics and marketing in textile and clothing technology. This kind of study organization brings technological, artistic, social and humanistic approaches into balance with fundamental education in fashion design. Different branches of study were introduced in order to allow students to further develop specific skills and competences according to their desired professional orientation and personal interests.
The organization of the study program and the curriculum are in line and up-to-date with
contemporary world trends. The program maintains a high level of artistic, professional and scientific work and keeps the study contents on top of world trends but also allows students to express individual creativity which is essential to this kind of education. The compatibility of the program with European and worldwide study levels, as well as the collaboration with European universities and studies of textile and fashion design enable student exchange programs, giving students the opportunity to take courses and continue their studies abroad.
One of the key methods of expressing acquired knowledge and skills in this study are final works presented by students in cooperation with teachers by participating in in-house and public fashion shows and other forms of manifestations related to fashion and art. Upon graduation, students of fashion design constitute a competent workforce in domestic and international fashion industry.

Katalog studentskih radova dipmod_0123 cilj je predstaviti zaokruženu cjelinu od četri modnih revija nastalih u okviru Sveučilišta u Zagrebu na Tekstilno-tehnološkom fakultetu. Ideja modne revije dipmod godišnje je predstavljanje javnosti najboljih mladih diplomanata modnog dizajna stasalih na Tekstilno-tehnološkom fakultetu u Zagrebu. Važnost manifestacije potvrđuje i činjenica da se dipmod od 2015. godine odvija pod visokim pokroviteljstvom Rektora Sveučilišta u Zagrebu prof. dr. sc. Damira Borasa.
Inicijalna ideja potrebe predstavljanja diplomanata modnog dizajna javnosti javlja se 2013. godine kada u predvorju kina sc kreće prva u nizu modnih revija kojima je cilj ustaliti godišnju prezentaciju mladih modnih dizajnera. Lišena estradnog blještavila odjeća koju nam unutar revije dipmod_0 nude diplomantice Jelena Aleksić, Sonja Brstilo, Petra Ivanjoš, Marija Jaramazović, Lidija Lovrić, Vedrana Mastela, Tajana Rajčić, Andreja Štefanac, Martina Težak i Lucija Vrcić nudi novi prostor za promišljanje mode. Iz odabranih kolekcija jasno je vidljiva svjesna tendencija izbjegavanja bavljenja trenutnim modnim trendom. Kolekcijama su obuhvaćena različita tematska područja koja govore u prilog interdisciplinarnosti mode, a bave se reinterpretacijom uličnih stilova, destrukcijom materijala, pitanjima identiteta, fetiša i kamuflaže, propituju odnos umjetnosti i mode, a ne izbjegavaju ni osjetljiva pitanja mogućnosti prevođenja antimodnog u modno.
dipmod_1 koji se održava 2015. godine nastavlja ideju promocije najboljih mladih modnih dizajnera predstavljajući osam modnih dizajnerica kojima se kao gost večeri pridružuje apsolvent Matija Čop. Odjeća koju nam nude diplomantice Tina Buždon, Ema Gašljević, Jelena Holec, Dijana Horvatić, Suzana Koprivnjak, Aleksandra Kostadinović, Ines Košmerl i Dina Štambuk predstavlja kvalitativni odmak od ustaljenih i nerijetko predvidljivih modnih
rješenja. Kolekcije su redom temeljene na jasnim konceptualnim propitivanjima odjevnih oblika pri čemu funkcionalna dimenzija odjeće nije zanemarena. Svjesno izbjegavajući visokomodnu teatralnost te promišljajući konceptualnu funkcionalnost odjevnih oblika cilj je ponuditi alternativniji pristup modi te podcrtati njen interdisciplinarni karakter. U prilog tome govori širok spektar tematskih područja i istraživačkih pristupa koji obuhvaćaju alternativne postupke obrade tekstilnog materijala, introspektivna propitivanja identiteta i njegove kamuflaže kroz medij odjeće i mimikričnog tekstilnog uzorka, kao i pitanja odnosa umjetnosti i mode s posebnim naglaskom na problemu utopijske mode.
dipmod_2 održava se 2016. godine te predstavlja diplomske kolekcije šestero studenata, Arijane Bošnjak, Staše Doblanović, Julije Francisković, Saše Hortiga, Ive Kuzmić i Sanje Švrake, a kao gost večeri pridružuje im se Marko Petrić sa više puta nagrađivanom i međunarodno prezentiranom kolekcijom Objekt u objektu. Zajednička karakteristika predstavljenih kolekcija jaki je autorski rukopis svakog od studenata. Tako Arijana Bošnjak u kolekciji ... into purism estetiku blisku Paco Rabanneu hrabro koristi kao povod za proučavanje kiča u modi. Studentica detektira princip multiplikacije metalnih i plastičnih pločica kao čest oblik estetske zlouporabe u oblikovanju odjeće podcrtavajući tanku granicu između kiča i svega ostalog što kič nije. S druge strane, Staša Doblanović se u kolekciji Bamboo ss2016 dotiče estetike Paco Rabannea prevodeći je u skulpturalni odjevni moment. Oblikujući odjevno oplošje multiplicirajući bambusove pločice u formaciji geometrijskih tijela, stvara geometrijski čistu haptičnu površinu koja bojom drveta nadopunjava modre odjevne oblike isto tako skulpturalnog scuba tekstilnog materijala. Sintaksa likovnog jezika i likovne tehnike prisutni su i u drugim diplomskim kolekcijama od kojih se upotrebom grafičkih tehnika i printa izdvaja kolekcija The Marked Ones Julije

3Francisković. Print i grafičke tehnike u kontekstu modnog dizajna Julija Francisković koristi kao medij za propitivanje socioloških i psiholoških elemenata iniciranih pitanjem zločina, krivnje i života u izolaciji. Odjeća svedena gotovo do krajnje akromatske skale sa pokojim odjevnim predmetom blagog kolorita, savršena je podloga za print poruka estetski vezanih uz izgled novinskog članka unutar rubrike crne kronike. Antimodni karakter zatvorskog odijela koji pratimo u kolekciji Julije Francisković otvara pitanje granice i prelaska antimodnog u modno, a prisutan je i u kolekciji Rebellious guards Ive Kuzmić. Iva Kuzmić za polazište uzima antimodni kontekst nepromjenjive crvene uniforme Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva interpretirane u anarhističnom kontekstu isto tako antimodne estetike odjeće punk i rock populacije. Koketirajući sa antimodnim odjevnim stilovima Iva Kuzmić stvara odjevne dosjetke rekomponirajući prepoznatljive odjevne simbole u nove odjevne kompozicije. Pitanje identiteta, roda i spola te njihova utjecaja na oblikovanje, izgled i značenje odjeće temeljna su pitanja na koja pronalazimo odgovor u kolekciji The new revolutionaries Saše Hortiga. Odgovor iščitavamo kao radikalan otklon od standardizacije i konvencionalnog u oblikovanju odjeće. Tako Saša Hortig oblikuje kolekciju na kontrastu mini/mega odjevne veličine što rezultira krajnje dramatičnim odjevnim pričama kakve pronalazimo u estetikama Waltera van Beirendoncka ili pak Leight Bowerya. S druge pak strane, krajnje zasićenoj estetici koju pronalazimo u kolekciji The new revolutionaries Saše Hortiga suprotstavljena je rad Sanje Švrake. Bijelo i čistoća, te pitanje (ne)mogućnosti očuvanja iste, polazna su točka istraživanja unutar kolekcije Purity. U duhu purizma Sanja Švraka oblikuje krajnje pročišćenu kolekciju savršeno točne konstrukcije u kojoj se ni najmanjem detalju ne dopušta da naruši međusobni sklad odjevnih oblika. Sanja Švraka upotrebom bijelog nudi nam savršenu podlogu za simboličnu priču o duhovnoj čistoći.
dipmod_3 2017. predstavlja devet mladih autorica i autora čiji radovi problematiziraju odnos odjevenog tijela i okoline. Tijelo u fokusu kao zajednička odrednica svih kolekcija obrađeno je u širokom spektru tema poput tijela i novih tehnologija, tijela kao mjesta poruke, (de)konstruiranog i konceptualnog tijela. Tako u kolekciji K2 - 421 + ≈ 3368 Dalibor Šakić promišlja dvojno tijelo. Dizajner imaginarnom jednadžbom izračunava broj upotrijebljenih šavova koji je aproksimativno jednak broju 3368. Autor analitički pristupa zbrajanju konstrukcijskih postupaka i krojnih dijelova gdje je njihova kvantitativna vrijednost preduvjet za osiguravanje transformabilnosti u oblikovanju odjevnih predmeta za dvoje. Nikola Barbir u kolekciji Humanity poput renesansnog čovjeka pristupa istraživanju bojila stvarajući jedinstveni pigment kojim tretira tekstil. Istraživački pristup nastavlja analiziranjem anatomije ljudskog tijela prepoznajući u postupku seciranja (de)konstrukcijske vrijednosti krojne slike shvaćene kao preslike ljudskog tijela. Nikola kroz kolekciju varira kroj multiplicirajući izdvojene anatomske dijelove ljudske figure. Anatomska slika tijela nalazi se i u fokusu interesa dizajnerice Lane Krmek. U kolekciji Pulse Lana postavlja pitanje funkcionalnosti i estetskih vrijednosti novih tehnologija u modnom dizajnu. Uzevši linije mišićnog tkiva i krvožilni sustav kao estetski predložak za dizajn odjeće dizajnerica kiborgizira tijelo zamjenjujući njegove anatomske vrijednosti optičkim vlaknima. Individualni karakter odjeće postignut je upotrebom mikrokontrolera i led dioda koje suptilno bilježe puls muških i ženskih modela stvarajući intimnu bilješku promjena i reakcija jedno na drugo. Nadalje, suptilnošću promjene odjevnog oplošja bavi se i Matea Bručić u kolekciji Chameleon. Dizajnerica koristi termokromatska i fosforoscentna bojila u svrhu kolorističke transformacije tekstilnog uzorka. Matea u tekstilnom uzorku iščitava njegovu dvojaku prirodu. S jedne strane riječ je o floralnom uzorku inspiriranom orijentalnošću, dok s druge strane
motiv biljke prepoznaje kao simbol akumulirane sunčeve energije. Novonastali tekstil poziv je na dodir i komunikaciju sa okolinom pri čemu je izražajnost tekstilnog uzorka ovisna o intenzitetu vanjskog podražaja. Dodirnu točku u kolekcijama wannabe Nives Bošnjak i Attention — 0,99 % Petre Stanković pronalazimo u apostrofiranju značenja T-shirta kao mjesta poruke. Kolekcija Attention — 0,99 % konotirana je kritičkim stavom spram terora masovnog modnog konzumerizma i brze mode. Petra Stanković akceptira T-shirt kao važno komunikacijsko sredstvo između kupaca i modnih brandova ispisujući agresivne poruke poput feeling smart ili pay 50% now — pay 50 % later na bijele majice antimodnog karaktera kakve susrećemo u izlozima u vrijeme rasprodaja. Uključujući ih u kolekciju, Petra njjihov prvotno antimodni karakter mijenja u modni. S druge strane, Nives Bošnjak poruku na T-shirtu koristi kao sredstvo naglašavanja socijalnih i političkih problema. Porukama if I was A rich girl… ili yeezus is not my lord bijeli T-shirt pretvara u mjesto kritike i otpora sustavu. Posljedično tome, kolekcijom wannabe Nives Bošnjak problematizira koncept političkih poruka u pop kulturi i modnom dizajnu izražavajući jasnu kritiku spram kvarnosti modnog sustava i njegove selebritizacije. Kolekcija Echo Maje Podrug odličan je primjer uzajamne povezanosti (de)konstrukcijskih načela oblikovanja odjeće sa posljedičnom promjenom namjenskog i simboličnog značenja odjevnog predmeta. Za polazišnu točku dizajnerica uzima klasično muško odijelo koje jasno očituje svoj simbolički, rodni, klasni i socijalni karakter te će upravo zbog toga svaka konstrukcijska promjena na njemu uzrokovati i promjenu njegova značenja. Najveći dekonstrukcijski pomaci vidljivi su na kragnama i reveru čime dizajnerica odijelu povećava broj funkcija i provocira interaktivan odnos sa njegovim vlasnikom. Dekonstrukcijski postupci osnova su diplomske kolekcije Matije Čopa. Matija Čop u kolekciji Monster Mum in Funny Farm primijenjuje mušku krojnu sliku na ženski odjevni
predmet. Dislokacijama krojnih dijelova muškog odijela na žensko tijelo Matija problematizira ulogu žene u suvremenom društvu. Kolekcija Monster Mum in Funny Farm metafora je majke u ludnici vremena. Čudovišnu ulogu majke dizajner dodatno razvija u formi konceptualnog performansa gdje se razodijevanje i maskiranje tumači intimnim činom propitivanja identiteta. Težnja ka performansu i konceptualnom promišljanju mode karakteristika su i kolekcije abNormal 6/208 Duje Kodžomana. Konceptualnost pristupa očituje se u činjenici da kolekcija nastaje na principu rezultata ankete koju autor provodi na uzorku od 208 ispitanika. Postavljajući anketna pitanja o šest psihičkih poremećaja dizajner istražuje ulogu stereotipa u percepciji abnormalnosti i psihičkih poremećaja, a dobivene rezultate koristi kao oblikotvorni obrazac u oblikovanju unisex kolekcije modne odjeće.
Raznolikošću obrađenih tema i pristupa oblikovanju odjeće dipmod postaje vodećom platformom za predstavljanje mladih modnih imena. Iz generacije u generaciju predstavlja diplomanate Tekstilno-tehnološkog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Zagrebu koji svojim kolekcijama dokazuju da je moda poput lakmusa. Ona upija u sebe razne utjecaje bilježeći duh i tektoniku vremena pritom otvarajući neprestano nove mogućnosti modnog oblikovanja i komunikacije.

The catalog of student’s works dipmod_0123 aims to present the cycle of four fashion shows organized by the Faculty of Textile Technology at the University of Zagreb. The idea behind the dipmod fashion show is to present the best fashion design graduates of the Faculty of Textile Technology and their collections to the wider public. The fact that dipmod event has been organized under the auspices of the rector Mr. Damir Boras since 2015, speaks of its importance.
The initial idea to annually present new fashion design graduates to the public first appeared in 2013 with the staging of the first fashion show in the foyer of the sc movie theater. Devoid of showbiz glamor, the dipmod_0 fashion show presents collections by graduates Jelena Aleksić, Sonja Brstilo, Petra Ivanjoš, Marija Jaramazović, Lidija Lovrić, Vedrana Mastela, Tajana Rajčić, Andreja Štefanac, Martina Težak i Lucija Vrcić, offering us a different angle for contemplating fashion. Selected collections clearly indicate the lack of tendency to attend to temporary fashion trends. Asserting the interdisciplinary nature of fashion, the collections cover a variety of topics, as they reinterpret street style, deconstruct the materials, and deal with questions of identity, fetish and camouflage while examining the relationship between fashion and art and addressing even the sensitive issue of transforming anti-fashion into fashion.
dipmod_1 in 2015 continues to promote the very best young designers with eight individual collections. The graduates are joined by a perspective student Matija Čop. The collections presented by the graduates Tina Buždon, Ema Gašljević, Jelena Holec, Dijana Horvatić, Suzana Koprivnjak, Aleksandra Kostadinović, Ines Košmerl and Dina Štambuk offer a significant divergence from conventional and oftentimes predictable fashion designs. All collections are based on clearly conceptual reevaluations of garments whereby their functional dimension remains intact. The ultimate objective of the collections is to offer an
alternative approach to fashion and emphasize its interdisciplinary character by intentionally casting off the theatricality of haute couture while contemplating the conceptual functionality of garments. This objective is accomplished through immersion into a wide aspect of research topics and approaches which include alternative methods of fabric manipulation, introspection on the topic of identity and its camouflage through the medium of clothing and mimicking textile patterns, and also by revisiting the relationship between fashion and art, with the emphasis on the issue of utopian fashion.
dipmod_2 is staged in 2016 and presents the collections of six graduates: Arijana Bošnjak, Staša Doblanović, Julija Francisković, Saša Hortig, Iva Kuzmić and Sanja Švraka, joined by Marko Petrić as the special guest of the evening with his multiply rewarded and internationally presented collection Object in Object. The common feature of all presented collections is a strong author’s signature of all graduates. In her collection ... into purism, Arijana Bošnjak boldly employs esthetics akin to Paco Rabanne as a cause to explore kitsch in fashion. The graduate detects the principle of multiplied metal and plastic sequins as a common form of esthetic abuse in apparel design, redrawing the fine line between kitsch and non-kitsch. In her collection Bamboo ss2016, Staša Doblanović also plays with Rabanne’s esthetics and translates it into sculptural garments. The application of geometrically shaped bamboo plates on the surface of the already sculpted scuba fabric creates a perfectly neat haptic surface of navy blue complemented by the color of wood. The syntax of visual language paired with visual art techniques can be observed in other collections, particularly in the works of Julija Francisković in her collection The Marked Ones. She uses prints and graphic techniques in the context of fashion design as a medium for communicating sociological and psychological aspects of crime, guilt and life in

isolation. Achromatic clothing with only few mildly colored garments acts as a perfect canvas for printed messages resembling newspaper articles reporting on crime and violence. The anti-fashion character of a prison uniform in her collection poses a question on boundaries between and the transition of anti-fashion into fashion. The collection Rebellious Guards by Iva Kuzmić addresses the same issue from a different angle. Her collection employs the anti-fashion character of red Queen’s guards’ uniforms as a starting point to investigate its interpretation in the anarchistic context of the equally anti-fashion esthetics of the punk and rock subcultures. Iva’s play with anti-fashion clothing styles creates amusing solutions by incorporating common anti-fashion staple garments in a new outfit. The question of identity, sex and gender and their influence on the construction, appearance and contextual meaning of clothes are the underlying issues addressed in the collection The New Revolutionaries by Saša Hortig. The answer lies in a radical deviation from standardization and conventionality in garment construction. Saša Hortig bases his collection on the contrast of mini/mega clothing sizes, resulting in ultimately dramatic clothing solutions comparable to the esthetics of Walter van Beirendonck or Leigh Bowery. Saturated esthetics of Hortig’s collection is juxtaposed to the works of Sanja Švraka. The (im)possibility of preserving whiteness and cleanliness lies at the foundation of her research in the creation of her collection Purity. In the spirit of purism, Sanja Švraka designs a purified collection of perfectly constructed garments, allowing no details to tip their balance. White fabrics provide a perfect canvas for a symbolic narrative on spiritual cleanliness.
dipmod_3 2017 presents nine new designers whose collections explore the relation of a clad body to its environment. The focus on human body is the common denominator of all collections which cover a wide range of topics such as the body and its
relation to new technologies, body as a billboard, a (de)constructed or a conceptual body. In his collection titled K2 - 421 + ≈ 3368, Dalibor Šakić contemplates a dual body. The designer uses an imaginary equation to calculate the number of seams, which approximately equals 3368. The designer applies an analytic approach by calculating the number of cutting parts and operations in garment construction; their quantitative value is essential for transformability in creating a garment for two. Nikola Barbir takes a “renaissance man “approach in the design of his collection u Humanity; by researching dyestuffs, he creates a unique pigment to treat textiles. He continues his research by analyzing the anatomy of human body; he draws analogies between the dissection procedure and the (de)constructive value of the cutting pattern perceived as a replication of human body. Nikola alters the cuts through his collection as he multiplies particular parts of a human figure. Human anatomy also lies in the focus of interest in Lana Krmek’s work. In her collection Pulse, Lana questions the functionality and esthetic values of modern technologies in fashion design. She uses the outlines of muscular and cardiovascular systems as an esthetic template in her design; the garments create an image of a cyborg body, where its anatomic features are replaced by optical fibers. The individual character of garments lies in the use of microcontrollers and leds which subtly record the pulse of male and female models and keep track of intimate changes in their bodies as they react to one another. Subtle changes of fabric substrates are in the focus of Matea Bručić’s collection Chameleon. The designer uses thermochromic and phosphorescent dyes to achieve color transformations in textile patterns, granting them a dual character. Orient-inspired floral patterns transform into motifs of plants as symbols of accumulated solar energy. The innovative textile of these garments compels us to stay in touch and communicate with the environment as the intensity

of its patterns correlates to external impulses. The overlapping of collections wannabe by Nives Bošnjak and Attention — 0,99 % by Petra Stanković can be observed in emphasizing the meaning of a T-shirt as a message locus. The collection Attention — 0,99 % delivers criticism of mass fashion consumerism and fast fashion. Petra Stanković establishes a T-shirt as an important communication strategy between buyers and brands where she prints aggressive messages such as feeling smart or pay 50% now
— pay 50 % later on anti-fashion white t-shirts as commonly seen in windows during sales. By making them a part of the collection, Petra changes their anti-fashion character into fashion. On the other hand, Nives Bošnjak is using a message on a T-shirt to emphasize social and political problems. The printed messages if I was A rich girl… or yeezus is not my lord, turn a simple white T-shirt into criticism and a symbol of resistance. Consequently, Nives Bošnjak’s collection wannabe is exploring the concept of political paroles in pop-culture and fashion design, while simultaneously expressing a clear protest towards the corrupt nature of fashion system and its celebrification. Maja Podrug’s collection Echo is an excellent example of intertwining (de)constructing principles of garment making and shifting the use and symbolic meaning of a garment. As her starting point, the designer uses a classic male suit which possesses a clear symbolic, gender, class and social character. Each constructing change in the suit causes a shift in the meaning. The most significant deconstructing changes can be observed on the collar and lapels, where the designer creates new functions of the suit and establishes an interactive relationship with the suit owner. Deconstruction is also the basis for Matija Čop’s graduate collection. In his collection Monster Mum in Funny Farm, Matija Čop applies a menswear cutting pattern to a female garment. By dislocating cutting parts of a male suit to a female body, Matija is questioning the role of a woman in contemporary society. The collection
Monster Mum in Funny Farm serves as a metaphor for a mother in the modern asylum. The monstrous role of the mother is further explored in a conceptual performance where undressing and masking becomes an intimate act of identity questioning. Performance and conceptual traits can also be observed in Duje Kodžoman’s collection abNormal 6/208. His conceptual approach is particularly stressed in the fact that his collection resulted from a survey he conducted on the sample of 208 participants. By asking them questions about six psychological disorders, the designer is exploring the role of stereotypes in the perception of abnormality and psychological disorders; he uses obtained results as motifs in constructing a unisex clothes collection.
The diversity of covered topics and approaches to the garment making process makes dipmod the leading platform for young fashion talents. As every new generation of graduates is introduced, their collections prove that fashion is like litmus. It absorbs various influences and reflects the zeitgeist by continually opening new perspectives in fashion design and communication.
