The Diploma of Beauty is a hands-on course in a simulated beauty salon environment. To make the most of yourlearning you will be expected to practise your skills on your peers and members of the public. You will also need to becomfortable allowing your peers to practise their skills on you.

This is an Advanced Entry course and requires students to have previously completed the SHB30115 Certificate III inBeauty Services (or equivalent) qualification. Students are also required to complete a Language, Literacy andNumeracy screening process to determine the level of learner support required (if any) to successfully complete theprogram. STUDY COMMITMENT
This is a full time on campus course. You must attend approximately 24 hours of class. You may also be required tocomplete approximately 10 hours of additional study. This additional study could include private study, work placementsand research.
The course will run 3 days a week for 18 weeks.

First Qualification Fee
Applies to a student who does not already hold a post-school qualification from any tertiary sector (TAFE, privateprovider or University), and includes any vocational (certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas) and higher education(degree) qualifications achieved in Australia or overseas previously.
Subsequent Qualification Fee
Applies to a student who already holds one or more post-school qualifications from any tertiary sector (TAFE, privateprovider or University), and includes any vocational (certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas) and higher education(degree) qualifications achieved in Australia or overseas previously.
Apprenticeship Fee
Eligible apprentices are exempt from fees when undertaking an apprenticeship under the NSW Government's Fee FreeApprenticeship. For apprentices who are not eligible, apprenticeship qualification fees are capped at $2,000.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSWGovernment will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Youractual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

PAYMENT OPTIONS AND ASSISTANCE
This course is approved for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan (VSL). If you meet the VSL eligibility and academicsuitability requirements, you are able to apply to the Commonwealth for a loan to cover all or part of your course fee. Wewill ask you whether you would like to apply for a VET Student Loan when you enrol and advise you of the process.
To complete your VET Student Loan application, you will need to provide:
Your Tax File Number (TFN). If you dont have a TFN, click here for information on how to apply for one. You can complete your loan
application with a Certificate of Application for a TFN, but must provide your TFN as soon as it is issued. If you dont provide your TFN
before your first census day, you will need to pay the tuition fees for that unit of study.

Your Commonwealth Higher Education Student Support Number (CHESSN) ). If you have previously accessed a loan via the Higher
Education Loan Program (HELP), either at TAFE or university, you will already have a CHESSN. You must use the same CHESSN
whenever you access a student loan. If you dont have CHESSN, we will allocate one on your behalf.

To be eligible for a VET Student Loan, you will need to be assessed as academically suitable to undertakehigh level VET study. You will need to provide:
A copy of your Australian Year 12 Certificate; OR■
A copy of a certificate showing that you have been awarded a qualification at level 4 or above in the Australian Qualifications
Framework (where the language of instruction was English). If you previously completed a Certificate IV or higher qualification at TAFE
NSW, just let us know where and when you studied in your application; OR
■
Display competence at Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework in both reading and numeracy through an approved
Language, Literacy and Numeracy test. We will let you know if this is required once you apply.
■
If you intend to apply for a VET Student Loan, its important you know your student obligations.
ADDITIONAL RESOURCES
You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:
You may need to purchase Specialist Equipment and a Resource Kit in order to develop your skills.A detailed Specialist Equipment List will be provided at the orientation session or via email, along with suggestedindustry suppliers for you to purchase prior to starting class.The cost of your Resources which may be required for practical session/s is approx. $80.00 for uniform which you willretain on completion of your training.
Students are also required to wear closed- in, protective footwear and plain black pants or black skirt below the kneeand are required to bring a laptop and ipad to class.
