1. Student’s Appreciation About Diploma in Financial Management

Below is an extract from an interview with David Maxwell – a former student of Tom Delaney

David Maxwell from Dublin, Ireland, scored the highest aggregate mark of 351 for the

four papers, the first in world. He also achieved the highest marks in Papers DA1, DB1, and

DB2. David studied with Tom Delaney in Dublin Business School, Ireland.

“With a background in electronic engineering, I found that my skills were adequate in

relation to technical matters, but could be improved in the various business and commercial

areas required of my role. The Diploma in Financial Management helped to fill this gap in my

skills and provided me with the knowledge to broaden and develop my career,” he says.

It delivers financial teaching in 3 key areas:

ACCA is the worlds leading body of internationally accredited accountants.

ACCA is UK based, 110 years old and has 122,000 members and 325,000 students

in 170 countries. ACCA Romania has 450 members and 3,000 students. The ACCA

Romania steering committee includes members from ING bank, BCR bank, Petrom,

BAT, PWC and EY.

The Diploma in Financial Management is an internationally accredited

qualification with the largest global professional Accountancy Body, the Association

of Chartered Certified Accountants (A.C.C.A.) It is a flexible and dynamic program,

designed to achieve a level of practical financial management understanding that is

genuinely useful for managers in the workplace.

The Diploma consists of 2 Modules broken into 4 subjects as follows :

Saturday teaching (x10) with periodic weekend revisions (x4) and one weekend of project review. Clear course plan

At the beginning of the course candidates will receive a detailed course plan setting out what topics will be covered at each session. Interactive learning

Students are being prepared for December 2009. The teaching begins in March, continues weekly until July, breaks for August;

continues from September until November .Done in a modern convenient location

Periodic revision Exam revision sessions will take place periodically during the learning period

(4 weekend revisions). Exam paper focus

Tom Delaney has had multiple prize winners, including the 1st in the world. At the exam session, each module will be assessed by a three-hour

examination, held in December, and a project. You can sit one or both exams at one sitting, but projects must be completed separately over two six month periods.

On successfully passing both modules, you will receive a certificate and the entitlement to use the letters Diploma in Financial Management after your name.

9. ACCA Accreditation, Assessment & Registration

Accreditation

ACCA is the largest global accountancy body with 122,000 members and 325,000 students in 170 countries. ACCA Headquarters are in London with a further 80 offices worldwide.

ACCA Diploma in Financial Management is an Internationally Accredited Qualification with an International Exam.

The examination for ACCA Diploma in Financial Management is held simultaneously in all the countries students are from.

Exam papers are sent to and corrected in ACCA Headquarters in Great Britain. Results are despatched directly from ACCA Headquarters. Assessment techniques

Each module is assessed by a three hour examination and a project. The examination for each module will cover the two subject areas in that module and students must submit a project for each module. Each project consists of two assignments, one for each subject area. Details of the assignments will be sent to students by ACCA twice yearly in February and August. Examinations are held by ACCA twice yearly, December and June. Delaney Executive ACCA Diploma in Financial Management course is designed for the ACCA Diploma in Financial Management December Examination sitting.
