dining staff at any time.
Joke of the Month Answer:
“Tweethearts!”
Need a Phone List? Stop by the front desk to pick up an updated phone list of residents living at Lakeshore.
Wednesday, Feb. 26th at 2pm Father Jim from Our Lady of Hope Church will be coming in to do a short service
and provide ashes for those who would like
to receive them.
Chili Cook Off Calling all taste testers! We need you to decide who has the best chili
from the staff contestants! In the private dining
room on Feb. 13th from 11:30-12:30 the chili pots
will be set out for your enjoyment. At 1pm we will announce the 1st,
2nd, and 3rd place win-ners of the Chili Cook Off 2020!
Maintenance Corner Check this corner each month for an
informational note from our maintenance team! If you have any maintenance needs
from hanging pictures, to fixing your TV, to adjusting the clocks, and so much more, please put in a work request at the front
desk. This way, your request shows up on the maintenance tablet and they can desig-nate a select time frame to helping you out. This will also help with keeping track of all
of the tasks they have to complete day to day.
Tip for the Month: Icy, snowy roads and sidewalks make it easy to slip and fall. Make sure to wear
shoes with good traction and non-skid soles, and stay inside until the roads are clear.
Replace a worn cane tip to making walking easier. Take off shoes as soon as you return indoors because often snow and ice attach to the soles and, once
melted, can lead to slippery conditions inside.
Regular Calendar Schedule Changes
We will be having some changes in our
regular weekend plans starting February. Kim, the wellness
assistant, will be doing a full spectrum day of activities on Saturdays starting with a craft in
the morning, to exercise, bingo, and church trips in the
afternoon. Sundays will remain somewhat the same,
but Kim will no longer be in-house on this day. Sunday matinee movies will remain consistent and a new activity of
our community service project running independently
throughout the day. See “Community Service Project” details in this newsletter. We hope these changes will
allow more options to meet the needs of all
the residents at Lakeshore!

Happy Love Month,
I want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day! January really reminded me that life is very short with our loved ones
and we need to make every minute count. Tell your family you love them, give your neighbor a hug, call someone you haven’t
spoken to in a while, and don’t wait till tomorrow to do something you can do today.
We are halfway through winter and it hasn’t been that bad. Please remember that if you have a cold/flu like symptoms to stay in your room at least 48 hours after you are feeling well. I want to welcome all of our new residents to the Lakeshore
Family. We hope you enjoy your new home!
Sincerely, Shannon East

Bus Trip Information!
Group Outings Each month we will have a set of bus trips planned for all
residents of Lakeshore Senior Living. These trips will change each month to bring on new experiences and destinations!
If you would like to attend a planned bus trip please sign up at the concierge desk located at the main entrance prior to
departure. If we see that no residents have signed up for a set trip, it may be cancelled to open up the bus schedule for other
opportunities.
Independent Bus Trip Appointments: Independent Bus Trips will be available on
Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays 9AM-4PM Do you have a doctors appointment you need to get to? Do you have
a favorite store that you would like to go to? Lakeshore would be happy to take you! All you have to do is sign up for an independent
bus trip with the concierge at the front desk. When planning your appointments please have the following
information available: Your name, room number, phone number, appointment time, and the exact address of your destination. The
scheduling book will be set up with a four months’ span to allow for appointments to be made well in advance.
A few requirements for independent bus trips: All independent trip appointments need to be made at least a week in advance and fall on the designated independent trip days
of Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday. All destinations need to be within a 10-mile radius of Lakeshore
Senior Living. Any destination further than the set 10-miles needs to be preapproved by the Executive Director.
For any independent trips you have scheduled, you need to arrive to the lobby at least 10 minutes prior to your departure time.
If you have to cancel an appointment please let the front desk know as soon as possible, to allow another resident to fill the
time slot. All independent bus trip pick-ups must be scheduled before 5pm.
If your appointment runs longer than 5pm you will have to arrange pick-up transportation for yourself.
Bus Trip Sign Ups and Cancelling When signing up for bus trips please make sure you cancel at the
front desk if you no longer plan on attending. We have had too many trips recently seem full when others try to sign up, and then the day
comes and multiple people have cancelled. We will now have a policy put into place beginning February: if you sign up for a trip, but are a no-show or cancel less than a day before, three different
times, you will be on a restricted list for outings for one month. This will mean that if you sign up for a trip you will be an alternate and others will have a chance to go before you. We want everyone to
have an opportunity to enjoy the planned outings and there needs to be some accountability of signing up and cancelling to assure this.
Emergency Bracelet Testing
Please stop by the front desk at the beginning of the month
for a safety check on your bracelet. This test will make
sure that your bracelet is working correctly in the case
of an emergency.

Community Service Project
We need your help! Though we may be in the beginning of the year, we have set our goal for the
upcoming holiday season, to deliver 200 "Thinking of You" holiday cards to the local hospital to be
delivered to children who will be spending their holidays away from
home. How it will work:
Every Sunday in the art studio there will be
supplies out on the tables with instructions and
examples of the cards that can be made for that
weekend. Residents and guests can come at their leisure throughout the day, but a set time of 3PM will be on the
calendar to draw multiple people in at the same time
for good conversations and community. After each Sunday, the cards
made will be collect and put in a safe location to be saved for the end of the year. In December, we will take a group of
participants to the hospital to deliver the
handmade cards. We hope you will help us
achieve our goal and make a few
children smile during their rough times.
