The „Absolventenkongress” (Congress of the Graduates) is the largest job fair in

Germany and Switzerland.

The 27th edition at the end of 2015 has brought together more than 400 major

companies and 30500 jobseekers.

STAUFENBIEL INSTITUT, a leading provider of HR marketing and recruiting solutions, decided this year to reinvent the fair, by

dissolving the boundaries between analog and digital and by developing a solution of

"Integrated Recruiting".

The organizers have initiated a matchmaking process between candidates and employers weeks before the exhibition: by registering for the job fair, thousands of young talents

completed their application profile in the mobile application StaufenbielApp.

Based on their CV, degree program, current status, desired career and job, and the sector or department where they want to integrate in, candidates have been filtered, have received

initial proposals for potential jobs and saw which companies are interested in their candidacy.

The data collected through the mobile application was integrated in the Talent Board, which provided - as in a dating portal - a matching comparison between candidates profiles

and the job profiles created by the recruiting companies. In this way, the recruiters have had an accurate perspective on the candidates and have

selected those they were interested to meet face-to-face at the fair. So, candidates were already weeks before in contact with their potential employers.

All candidates who have found interesting offers arrived at the job fair having already a list of companies and

jobs corresponding to their preferences and a clear strategy regarding the

interviews.

The process of matching and direct connection continued in an interactive

manner at the fair. Employers and young professionals had the chance to find each other more easily, by using the

mobile application and the capabilities of the iBeacon technology.

300 Onyx Beacon One devices were installed at the location, each one precisely identifying the booth of one participating company.

When arriving at the fair, the selected candidates have automatically received personal notifications and location information from each company interested in their candidacy. The beacons’ capabilities of micro-location and contextual communication were used to

create relevant and effective connections between profiles and job descriptions.
