  • Quick Start: The Falcons 3-1 record in the month of November is the teams best start since the 2011-12 season, when the team went 4-1 in the month of November.

Balanced scoring: CUW has had a balanced scoring attack with a different player lead-ing the team in points in each of the first four games. On Nov. 17, the Falcons had sev-en players score in double figures in a 99-79 win over Dominican.

Emergence of Edwards and Mitchell: Se-niors Taron Edwards and James Mitchell have seen limited action throughout their careers, but this year the two seniors have stepped into starting roles and have made a huge impact. Edwards is currently sec-ond on the team in scoring at 14 points per game. Mitchell is currently fourth on the team in scoring averaging, 10.8 points per game, and leads the team in rebounding with 5.3 per game.

Bench play: Senior Trevor Krizenesky and sophomores Josh Erickson and Matt Wilke have provided CUW with a big spark com-ing off the bench. The three are averaging a combined 21.8 points off the bench, allow-

ing CUW to keep the momentum offensive-ly.

Defense to offense: The pesky defense of the Falcons continues to get steals and force turnovers, allowing them to maximize of-fensive opportunities. The Falcons currently lead the confernce in steals (12.8) and rank second with 16.8 turnovers forced per game.

Kittels hot shooting: Kittel has been torch-ing the nets, shooting an impressive 52.9 percent from 3-point range. He has made 18-of-34 3-point attempts, including a ca-reer-high seven against UW-River Falls in the season opener.

High scoring offense: The Falcons started off the season scoring 98 and 99 points in their first two wins, respectively. The last time CUW scored 90+ points in back to back wins was in the 2009-10 seasn when they beat Concordia Nebraska, 91-73, in the championship game of CIT. They then fol-lowed with a 97-89 win over Marian at home three days later.
