Career History Matalan Bury 2012 - PresentMy employment with Matalan has enabled me to gain experience and to become a valuable member of staff through my knowledge of the store and customer service skills.

Duties: • Customer care - Working on the till at busy times ensuring all customers are satisfi ed with their puchases

and also making sure at busy times the queue decreases quickly making a better customer experience.• Cash Handling - Handling money and bank/credit cards.• Stock Take - Putting out stock that has been delivered into the correct places in-store and putting security

tags on all new items.• Shop Floor Recovery - Getting the shop fl oor ready for the shop to open the next day, this includes putting

all returned stock back and all goods that have been tried on, making sure every garment is in size order.• Visual Merchandising - Putting together statements looks in-store.

Bellini Restaurant Ramsbottom 2011-2012While working at Bellini Restaurant I learnt how to work in a busy restaurant environment and deliver excellent customer service while under pressure. In this time at Bellini I worked behind the bar and on the restaurant fl oor taking food and drink orders as well as delivering them to the tables.

Duties:• Handling cash and card payments• Taking food and drinks orders correctly and then delivering them to the kitchen/bar• Making drinks at the bar from orders taken by myself or others and then delivering them to the correct

table• Setting and clearing tables ensuring the restaurant is tidy and always ready for customers

The Red Hall Hotel Ramsbottom 2010-2011This was my fi rst job and I had to learn things quickly and effi ciently to keep up with the busy restaurant environment. I didn’t work in the restaurant and worked on functions, for example weddings, sports mans dinner, anniversaries etc. This was challenging as I was often serving over 100 people at a time. This was split among fi ve staff so we had to learn how to work as a team in order for everyone to receive excellent customer service and everyone was receiving their food at the same time.

Duties:• Delivering drinks and food to customers• Taking drinks orders• Cleaning and clearing tables• Working quickly and within a team

A trustworthy and reliable student with a friendly personality with plenty of customer service experience, in-cluding the ability to communicate with customers clearly and politely. I am organised and willing to learn new skills and accept responsibility for my jobs. I am able to work to meet deadlines promptly throughout the day and have proven ability to become a trusted and valuable member of staff.

I-LIVPROJECT

I-LIV WANTED TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF PRODUCTS SOLD AND IMPROVE THE WAY THEY SELL THEIR PRODUCTS. THE BRIEF WANTED US TO INVESTIGATE A CUSTOMER TYPE AND LOOK AT WHAT BEST SUITED TO UP-SELL OR CROSS SELL THEIR PRODUCTS USING A RANGE OF PLATFORMS.

MY WORK INCLUDES A CUSTOMER PROFILE BOARD, A MARKET RESEARCH BOARD AND MY TWO MAIN IDEAS.

Market Research

After conducting a survey using useful and informative questions I gathered the following information. The first chart is from mintel, this shows the overall consumer spend on housewares. This shows that more people buy household textiles i.e curtains, bedding etc. From the other graphs I found out that 90% of people prefer to order samples online before purcahsing a product, When purchasing wallpaper and other goods like bedding and curtains people would be interested in paint to match. Also the majority of people that took my survey were aged between 40-50 so this will create my target customer. Overall the survey went in my favour and helped me to further my ideas.
