PRINTMAKER’S STUDIO

Explorative insight into a space with personal attachment. My mother’s art studio at home, originally a conservatory yet has been adapted for her use as a printmaker.

Photographed is her at work, the enormous printingpress, around which the arrangement of space is orientatedand the fantastic light the space manages to capture.

ARTIST’S PRINTS

Part of my subjective analysis I assessed at the space through the medium of printmaking and looking at the physical process of making prints.

Photographed is a collograph plate being inked up, waiting to be put through the printing press (top left), and a comparison of a cleaned plate with the ink remains (top) and a final print looking at the textures this process produces (above).

Elevations

Within our site analysis I digitally put together an elevation of the main view (above) combining a drawing and a photo panorama. As well as this, a photo panorama of the busy main road that lay next to the site. (left)
