Organize Your Documents
You Need:• Intro• Resume• Cover Letter• Letter of Recommendation• 4 Portfolio Samples• 3 Writing Samples
Organize Your Files into a Folder On your desktop named: “Digital Portfolio”
Inside the Folder

Click “Get Yours Now – it’s FREE!”
Fill Out Information• Fill out all information
• **USE VALID EMAIL**(accessible in class)
• Make sure to click• Check Availability• I agree• Create My account Now!
Activating Your Account
• Check your email that you used to make your account
• In your email, click this link
• Once you get here, Wait
Quick Start
Quick Start
• Click• “skip for now, I’ll do
this Later”
Privacy Settings
• Click “available to Anyone”
• Verify your URL and click “Check URL Availability”
• Click “Save My Privacy Settings”
Work History• Click “Skip for
now, I’ll do this later”
Education
• Click “Skip for now, I’ll do this later”
Create your Portfolio
• Click “Enhance My VisualCV”
Edit Your Portfolio• Click “edit”
Setting Up Your Portfolio
• Delete Work History and Education by clicking on these X’s
Edit Your Portfolio• It Should Now
look like this
Adding to your Portfolio• Click the ‘portfolio’
button at the top left twice.
• You should now have:• 1 Summary Section• 2 Portfolio Sections
Customize Headings• Now rename Each
of the headings.
• Change Summary to Introduction
• Change the 1st Portfolio to Work Samples
• Change the 2nd Portfolio to Writing Samples
Uploading Content• Upload ALL documents to VisualCV
Browsing For Content• Navigate to
your “Digital Portfolio” Folder that we made earlier.
• Upload Your Cover Letter.
• Name it carefully so you will remember what it was called.
Using the Uploader• Allow the document
to upload.
• You have now uploaded 1 document!
Upload Everything• Now that we know how
to use the uploader, we can begin to upload everything.
• Upload all 11 documents the same way you did before.
• REMEMBER TO USE A DESCRIPTIVE NAME
• It should look something like this when you are done with all 11 documents.
Add Content• Begin to add
content.
• Under Introduction, press “EDIT”
Introduction
• Open up your Introduction Letter in Microsoft word. Paste everything into the text box and click save.
Work Samples• WATCH SCREEN
FOR DEMO
• Under your “work samples” portfolio, add your 1 of your 4 in-class samples to a box.
• Make Sure to Title it and give it a legitimate description. People will be reading this.
Work Samples• Finish adding all
four of your work samples.
• It should look like this at the end
Adding Writing Samples• Adding
Writing Samples works the exact same way as adding your 4 in-class examples.
• It will look like this when it’s done.
Resume, Cover Letter, Letter of Rec• We have 3 items
left to place on our portfolio.
• These items will be going into the portfolio on the right-side column.
• Adding these last three objects will be very similar to how we added them before.
Resume, Cover Letter, Letter of Rec• Should look like this
when you are done:
• REMEMBER A NAME + DESCRIPTION
• Begin adding the remaining three documents in this order:• Resume• Cover Letter• Letter of Rec
A picture of you (optional)• At this point, you are
pretty much done.
• To see your finished result go to the website URL that you picked.

• To upload a picture of yourself to your digital Portfolio click this button:
A picture of you (optional)• We need to upload a
picture of you to VisualCV.
• Click Upload and browse.
• Navigate to your photo. Upload and select it.
• You should end up with something like this:
Personal Configuration• To change the color
scheme/ How the page looks you can play around with these buttons:
• I have the grey box selected, and it looks like the picture.
