1. Portrait photography

Assignment: Each person in your group will be required to hand in two portrait photo. Don't be afraid to experiment with backgrounds, lighting, or in the editing of these photos in Photoshop.

Portrait tip: use the zoom setting and remember the person in the shot should take up 2/3 of the frame.

2.Texture-Lines-Patterns

Assignment: Each person in your group will be required to hand in two texture or pattern photo. Don't be afraid to experiment with backgrounds, camera setting, lighting, or in the editing of these photos in Photoshop.

Texture tip: Look for lines, patterns and textures in everyday places that normally would go unnoticed.

3. Still Life

Assignment: Each person in your group will be required to hand in two still life photo. Don't be afraid to experiment with backgrounds, camera setting, lighting, or in the editing of these photos in Picasa.

Still life Tip: These shots are almost always staged try setting objects up with different light and backgrounds.

Macro - Close-up photography

Macro photography is close up photography. Your digital camera will most likely automatically select the "macro" setting when you try and focus on something close up with your camera. Each person in your group will be required to hand in one "macro" photo.

Macro tip: Everything looks different close up, just look around you for everyday items or objects that may look interesting close up.
