Digital Health trends & market, an investor point of view This session will introduce the summit with an interview of a couple of investors sharing their views about the Digital health sector, the technology trends, the market readiness, the businesses and start-ups emerging currently. Artificial Intelligence (AI) for smarter healthcare As most of the sectors, healthcare is impacted by AI technologies. Generating hopes (new discoveries) and fears (substitution of humans), AI brings new solutions for care delivery but also for research, biotechnology industry and drug design. Our Keynote speaker and our panel will explore these new opportunities and analyse the AI impact in healthcare, illustrated with concrete examples and success stories. Smart Healthy Cities The majority (54%) of the world population is living in urban areas and it is forecasted to increase within the next years. Cities are now playing a central role in bringing wellbeing to their citizens. They act on all aspects of local public policies: not only health and social care but also urbanism, traffic control, environment & pollution, noise reduction, community services development… More and more, the Cities’ decision making process is data-driven, bringing together information and insights collected by the administration itself but also through participative approaches directly with individual citizens. Through open data, they also influence and leverage on resilient initiatives from citizens, generating new local social exchanges, but also partnering with start-ups and companies to design and implement innovative solutions and services. Our panel will showcase the initiatives of 3 cities (Barcelona, New-York and Birmingham), contrasting and comparing their approach to improve the citizen’s health and wellbeing. What Healthcare can learn from Digital Marketing? How to change Human behaviours? Since the 90’s, Digital strategies have influenced the consumers’ habits around the world. Major brands have used Digital marketing for decades to increase their market share, triggering new behaviours related to their products and solutions. Giving the current healthcare context where 80% of the burden is due to chronic diseases largely related to human lifestyle, these 2 sessions will explore the technics and strategies that could be used to tackle the current main challenges.

Digital health experiences and vision in Sport Not very common to invite the sport sector at an healthcare summit? Professional sport clubs have developed since several years innovative activities and partnerships around Digital solutions for health, wellbeing and sport. Our speakers will showcase some of the most interesting projects they have led recently and disclose their vision for the next years. Health Data cooperatives Increasingly, most of healthcare and wellness services are based on data. Some are even claiming that Data is the “new oil of the economy”. The difference with oil is that the data are not produced by a physical and chemical phenomenon below Earth’s surface but by humans and their activities. Recent debates in North America and in Europe (supported by new legislation like GDPR in the EU) have emerged around the right of any citizen/consumer to have access to its own data and to control their use by any 3rd party, whether it is a public authority, a company, an insurer or a health professional. This control could be wide, as for instance the “right to erasure” in EU new regulation. Socially diffused and widely claimed, this idea should now identify the right model to execute this control. This session will explore an emerging concept called “Health Data Cooperative” where citizen put collectively the “new oil” to decide to which purpose it should be used. The health apps Jungle 320,000+ health apps on the stores. An average of 200 new health apps created every day on the last 12 months. It is very reasonable to ask some questions: what’s the point? Are they all useful, efficient, serious? Some are dangerous? How the consumer could choose? Should we regulate and control? How? Our panel discussion will cross points of view of apps developers, insurers, healthcare professionals and consumers, and will try to highlight the trends and the next steps forward for mobile health.

Blockchain: ultimate solution for healthcare? Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLTs) like Blockchain, are currently disrupting current models in various sectors: finance and banking, cybersecurity, real estate, etc. Healthcare sector have started to test blockchain. Some early adopters, such as Estonia, have already implemented it to manage healthcare citizens data and the Electronic Health System. Our panel will discuss the many existing use cases that can be transformed and transfer to healthcare, using the key attributes of blockchain including consensus, immutability, provenance and finality. This session will get past the hype and will start identifying healthcare-relevant use cases, bringing together key participants to generate projects. The end of the hospital? Will we still need hospital in the Future? Not so stupid question as more and more health issues are chronic and can be managed from home, and we see emerging in US and Europe “hospitals without beds and patients”. Our session will draw a vision of what could become the hospital in the next years. Virtual and Augmented Reality: immersive healthcare Immersive technologies, such as VR and AR, are game-changing technologies. Some claim that we have here the new platform, coming after mobile devices. After showcasing the unique experience provided by VR/AR and its influence on human feelings and behaviour through on-going projects, our panellists will describe their vision of the areas of implementation in healthcare, such as training and education by simulation, communication doctor/patient, patient empowerment,
