**Lots of staff at ‘School Support Services’ are making use of online surveys to gather prior knowledge and evaluative feedback.

**The following tools are commonly used to create the surveys, and collect and analyse the data.

Survey Monkey

Free Online Surveys

“This is a great tool to capture peoples thinking. I have used it to get evaluative feedback after taking a staff meeting; asked for perception prior to taking a course so that I can see where the thinking is forming.”

**Videos are commonly used by ‘School Support Service staff to engage learners, to build understanding and as a tool for direct instruction.** Teacher- Tube and You-Tube are the video libraries that are most commonly used.

This site is a favourite with Chris and Tracy ( Arts Advisors).

An amazing site that includes ‘how to’ videos for art processes.

Mr Duey Raps the Fractions. This rap is a great example of ‘communicating using a range of language, symbols and

text’ on the topic of reciprocal fractions.

A Vision of K12 Students. This is one of the many ‘cast a vision’ movies that challenges educators to meet the

needs of 21st century learners.

engaging and extending through video

“I used Teachers’ TV- for SCT cluster meetings showing videos of teachers coaching teachers-some great videos of teachers in action that you can unpick/unpack”. Mary Jamieson

emphasising key ideas with wordle

**Wordle is a fun tool that allows you to create “word clouds” from the text that you provide. **The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes.

Cynthia recently made use of wordle

to highlight key ideas in literacy

workshop.

** Slideshare provides free online storage for your power- point presentations. Each power-point can be shared publicly or privately.

**By using Slideshare no printing of power-points or burning of cd’s is necessary, all you will need to do is give workshop participants the url of your slideshow and they will be able to access, view and even download it.

** Slideshare also has a great search function. I have found some excellent power-points to help with my work.
