Improved production techniques. Mass Production, giving cheaper goods with improved quality. The Railways and Steam ships which improved and quickened communications. 

Positive social effects, less arduous work, and allowed mass movement of people. So that the interchange of ideas and social mobility improved. 

The Railways gave us standard time. Networked electricity, without Steam turbines there would be no industrial production of Electricity.
