1. My ProjectArmadillos, or "armored ones" in Spanish, are the only mammals with aprotective shell. It is made of heavy bony plates that cover its body. Armadillosmight appear awkward or slow but they can move and dig quickly and evenswim. The Nine-banded Armadillo builds a nest in an underground den and itcomes hunting insects and other invertebrates at night. His vision is poor. Itlives in Forests and lowlands, with moist soil and rotting wood where live insectsand other invertebrates live. They also live in areas with sandy soil.
