Logos represent the face of a business or event and help the audience to connect with the product or service. This set of logos that I have created best illustrate my design sensibilities, commercially focused clean, minimal, considered design.

Soap Club is a Melbourne based brand specialising in Natural, Cruelty Free, Australian made skin care,

Soap Club was looking to create environmentally conscious packaging for it’s new range of bar soaps as well as updating and refreshing their current branding and packagings which includes business cards, liquid soap packaging, gift wrap, stickers and soap stamps.

For Soap Club I worked with it’s founder Zibby Valtenbergs to create packaging that reflected the brands ideals of using ‘minimal and considered ingredients’ to create packaging that is refined, thoughtful and environmentally sustainable.

Soap Club’s bar soap packaging is Riso printed on recycled paper by

Calandra Press and photographed by Phoebe Schmidt.

Emergence exhibition is a LaLuna Youth Arts event happening in Townsville, Cairns and Mackay. The event brings together artists and scientists to create new digital media artworks.

Emergence already had a basic logo and fonts chosen when I came onto the project. From there I have used these stylistic elements to create invitations, e-invites, collateral posters and a catalogue for both print and web.

Townsville City Library security gate concept development has been inspired by words.

Working with the key values of the library, images were created for each word, with each image representing a letter within the word.

Hinchinbrook Art Awards is a signature event for the TYTO Regional Art Gallery (TRAG) and draws artists from all over the Queensland to showcase their work in the pristine TYTO precinct.

In 2015 I photographed the event and documented the exhibition. The resulting work was published in DUO magazine.

Monk Script is a Townsville based editing, proof reading and copy writing business run by local JCU academic Alex Christopher.

Monk Script works with artists, yogis and creative types in Townsville and prides itself on providing a relaxed and friendly approach to working with clients.

Alex and I worked together to create a series of images which she could use across all her social media platforms and website. The series of images depicts Alex at work and allows prospective clients the opportunity to get to know her practice and adding values to her clients experience.

Run Australia is an annual running event held in Townsville and the Sunshine Coast, Newcastle, Ballarat, Woolongong and Geelong each year.

For the 2015 event I documented the event for publication online and in print and processed images for immediate release.

My practice consists of photography and graphic design as well as video, animation and sculptural installations.

I use landscapes as an opportunity to reflect on my practice in a broader way and add a cathartic experience to the photographic process.

The image to the left is a part of a new series of work that looks at the human impact on the Australian landscape.

Portraits were my first entry into photography and inspired me to follow a career, camera in hand. There is something really personal about taking a photo of someone, not only the capturing process but also the editing process creates an intimacy that is generally not experienced in everyday life.

Portraits will always make up a part of my practice with the camera as they offer me the opportunity to really see people and capture the people I really care about.
