a person who is not baptized with a supportive group of

believers who accompany you on your own individual

journey of faith. We also welcome those who have not

received the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.

FOOD PANTRY We continue to ask for your support with donations for our Food Pantry, it is always a great help! Please place donations in the Barrel marked Food Pantry. Listed are some suggestions: 1lb.and 2lb. bags of white rice and beans, pasta, canned soups, chili, peanut butter and jam. We have a need for men’s TUBE SOCKS AND USABLE SLEEPING

BAGS. We no longer are taking egg cartons. PLEASE

WE DO NOT TAKE CLOTHING, TOYS,

últimos de cada mes a las 7pm. No hay pláticas

2.Deben asistir a las pláticas los PADRES y PADRINOS.Tiene que registrar en la oficína 544-7272 antes de la plática. REQUISITOS:

1. Deben traer a la oficina una copis del acta de nacimiento antes de ir a la plática.

1. Llevarlos vestidos de blanco el dia del bautismo

2. Los padrinos tienen que estar CASADOS POR LA IGLESIA

3. Si es possible una copía del Certificado de Matrimonía en la Iglesia. El costo es $35 donacion a la Iglesia.

Padre Jose pide que las familias solicitando fechas para

quinceñeras y bodas pagan el deposito de $50.00 para

separar la fecha. El pago final de $300.00 es debido un

mes y medio antes de la fecha. Si no pagan el evento

THE ALTAR SOCIETY

The Altar Society will once again be in charge of the

CAKE SPIN BOOTH AT THE OKTOBERFEST. We would

like to invite donations of cakes, cookies and other baked goods from our Resurrection bakers. You can drop off your donations to the church on Saturday Sept. 10th between 8am and noon. You may

also bring them to the office on Sept. 9th before noon. Thank you for your delicious donations…we appreciate

Dear Parishoners, In the past several months Bishop Vasa has intiated a process to reorganize the legal and canonical status of the parishes in the diocese. Previously each parish was included as a part of the “Roman Catholic Bishop of Santa Rosa, a Corporation Sole”. This meant that all properties were held as a part of the Corporation Sole. Our bishop would like to incorporate each parish individually. Ours would read “Pastor of Resurrection Catholic Church of Santa Rosa, A Corporation Sole”. This change would bring the status of the parish(es) into conformity with the Code of Canon Law which envisions each parish as a separate juridicial entity under the authority of the Bishop. Some question…why do this now? What effect will it have on the parishes? Do we have to get our own insurance, medical coverage, etc?

To explain all this, the Bishop is inviting those interested to an informational gathering in Windsor at the Furth Center at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish on September 6th at 7:00pm. See some of you there. Fr. Shaw

SARAH HART IS BRINGING GIFTS… Sarah Hart is bringing us the gifts of the Holy Spirit, her new retreat experience. Those who have attended one of her retreats before know that Sarah brings her personal stories into the day filled with fun, songs, prayer, scripture and discussion time. So mark your calendars and register early for a day you won’t soon forget. When: Saturday, October 22nd Where: Right here at Resurrection Cost: $25 for early registration, after October 16th it will be $35.00. Ticket sales start September 1st. For those in high school and junior high the cost is $15. More details are on flyers and on the parish website: www.resurrectionfamilies.org.

Geoff Wood will be here to present his excellent

reflection on the Sunday readings from scripture on

Wednesday morning August 31st at 9:45 am in the

religious education building. All are welcome! Bring a

friend!

PLEASE NOTE !!!!!!! On the adjacent wall next to the confessional is an

AED…..Automated External Defibrillator. HAVE YOU7

NOTICED IT??? Not to worry! Medical personnel will know

what to do and the defibrillator is also self explanatory. The

important thing to know is if a parishioner goes down and you

witness it, ask someone to call 911 and then check to see if the

person is breathing (place hand over their mouth or nose).

Someone who knows CPR will show up and take over. JUST FOR YOUR INFORMATION!!!!!!
