**When completing the Health Science application, be sure you have selected the correct entry term and program. Once your term is selected and application submitted, you may not change this without submitting a new application and paying another $50 non-refundable application fee. If you previously applied to the Diagnostic Medical Imaging Radiography Degree program, you will need to complete this step again and pay another $50 non-refundable fee to be considered for this admissions cycle.

one hour. All the information that you need related to the DMIR Program & admission process will be discussed. You will also have an opportunity to ask additional questions.
HAVE YOU COMPLETED AN UPPER LEVEL MATH COURSE (MATH 1100 OR HIGHER) OR ACHIEVED A SCORE OF 45 OR HIGHER ON THE ALGEBRA PORTION OF THE MATH
PRE-COURSE TEST?
DID YOU OBTAIN A 75% OR HIGHER ON THE MATH SECTION OF THE HESI A2 EXAM?
THIS IS A PRE-REQUISITE TO ADMISSION TO THE DMIR PROGRAM.
Math 1102 or Math 1115 are recommended, but any upper
level math course (Math 1100 or higher) will be accepted.

BETTER IN THE LAST 5 YEARS?
A&P 1500, 1551, and 1571 are all acceptable courses.
ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY MUST BE COMPLETED WITH A ‘C’ OR BETTER
Anatomy & Physiology must be completed with a ‘C’ or better before entering the
Radiography program in June. You may be enrolled in a course in Spring semester, but
proof of successful completion must be provided when the course is completed.
HAVE YOU SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED DMIR 1100 INTRODUCTION TO DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL IMAGING
RADIOGRAPHY WITH A GRADE OF ‘B’ OR BETTER OR ARE YOU ENROLLED IN THIS COURSE?
**This course must be completed at College of DuPage within the past 5 years and will not be considered for transfer from any other institution. Students have up to 2 attempts to successfully pass DMIR 1100 with a grade of “B” or better within a 5-year time period to be considered eligible for acceptance.
DMIR 1100 IS A PRE-REQUISITE COURSE FOR THE RADIOGRAPHY PROGRAM
DMIR 1100 must be completed with a ‘B’ or better before entering the Radiography
program in June. You may be enrolled in a course in Spring semester, but proof of
successful completion must be provided when the course is completed.
This course is offered in Fall & Spring semesters.
The course does include a Service Learning Component (20 volunteer hours).
You will be evaluated throughout the semester. This evaluation will include but is not
limited to punctuality/attendance, class & group participation, written & oral
communication skills, ability to follow directions, motivation for entering field, etc.
Merit points earned for this course will be weighted based on evaluation.

THE HESI A2 EXAM MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO FEBRUARY 28TH

DMIR Admissions analyzes scores in the following categories:
Reading Comprehension, Math, Vocabulary & General Knowledge,
and Anatomy & PhysiologyMerit points are assigned based on percentages achieved in each of these categories as follows:
100-90% = 3 pts.
89-80% = 2 pts.
79-70% = 1 pt.
< 70% = 0 pts.
DID YOU OBTAIN A MINIMUM 25% ON THE VOCABULARY & GENERAL KNOWLEDGE
SECTION OF THE HESI A2 EXAM?
THIS IS A PRE-REQUISITE TO DMIR ADMISSION
You may only take the HESI A2 exam two times total
(attempts must be taken at least 1 month apart).

DMIR ADMISSION PROCESS
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER FEBRUARY 28TH ?• All applicant files will be reviewed (i.e. transcripts, clinical interview, HESI
scores)
• Data will be entered into a database and merit scores will be calculated.
• Eligible applicants will be ranked from highest to lowest by merit score.
• Approximately 35-40 eligible applicants will be offered a position in the
Radiography program pending DMIR Admission Committee approval.
• All letters will be sent out by the middle of April.
CLINICAL EDUCATION SITE PLACEMENT• Clinical education site placement is FINAL and NON-NEGOTIABLE
• You may not be assigned to the clinical site you requested
• Site placement is determined by various factors such as merit score, site
availability, faculty evaluation, etc. We try to place students where we feel
they will be most successful.
• Students are required to provide their own transportation to & from the
clinical education site.
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS• Once you are accepted to the Radiography program, you will need to
complete all health requirements as described in the packet (link below).
• Make appointment with Edward Corporate Health for chart review
• Complete criminal background check through Castle Branch
• Complete 10-panel drug test
• CPR for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association
• Submit all documentation to your Castle Branch Profile
DMIR PROGRAM
RADIOGRAPHY PROGRAM OVERVIEW2 full time years – 6 consecutive semesters
1st year (starting Summer semester)
Didactic – Monday, Wednesday, Friday (7:30am to 4:30pm)
Clinical – Tuesday, Thursday (7am to 3:30pm or 8am to 4:30pm*)
Some weekend shifts required
2nd year

Class times are first come, first serve. We do not overload labs sections.
*Clinical education hours vary by site.
