We'll start with a typical Cambodiabreakfast and then set off on a short drivefrom Siem Reap to the ruins of Angkor, oneof the ancient wonders of thearchaeological world. The grandeur of thisbygone civilization is truly astounding. Westart walking from the South Gate ofAngkor Thom, unique for the 54 towersdecorated with over 200 colossal humanfaces carved in stone. We'll visit theimpressive Bayon Temple, the RoyalEnclosure, Phimeanakas, the ElephantTerrace, the Terrace of the Leper King andthe architectural masterpiece of AngkorWat. We stroll around this massivemonument, exploring the many gallerieswith columns, libraries, pavilions,courtyards and ponds full of waterreflecting the towering temple. Today we continue our walking exploringthe wondrous Angkor Complex with thejungle covered temple of Ta Prohm. Thereare enormous fig trees and giganticcreepers that embrace themselves in thestone foundations of this structure givingthe impression of man's creation beingreclaimed by the powerful forces of nature.We visit this masterpiece and some of theother nearby temples including BanteayKdei, Sra Srong, Ta Keo, Thommanon andChau Say Tevado. Upon leaving this area wesee other various famous temples of thegrand circuit. We round off our exciting daywith a walk up to Phnom Bakheng Hill toadmire the spectacular sunset over thesesandstone monuments. Overnight in thesame hotel in Siem Reap. TRIP INCLUSIONS
In the morning, we'll depart Siem Reap andhead for the floating village of ChongKhneas. There are over 1000 houseboatsthat comprise this village, as well as thefloating church, police station, etc. To tourthe village, we'll board a traditional woodenboat and cruise on the Tonle Sap Lake, thelargest in Asia. We'll also stop at a localartisan market for some last minutesouvenir shopping. In the afternoon we'lltransfer back to Siem Reap to connect withflights onwards. Meals: Breakfast
