We the students of JSS private school went for dhow cruise on 17th of November 2014.It was a mesmerizing experience.Dhow is a boat

which is made of wood. It is used in Arabian

peninsula. Before the discovery of oil dhow

building and fishing were the main occupa-

tions of Arabs. They used dhows for fish-

ing. We went in 4 dhows through the Dubai

creek.We boarded the dhow from Deira creek.

The breeze was so cool .We saw many sky-

scrapers on both sides of Creek. The head of-

fice of emirates NBD is a beautiful building.

We spent 2hours in the dhow. It was from

11:00 to 1:00 pm and the food was delicious

and we had both veg and non-veg food. We

enjoyed the trip even if it was for a short dura-

tion.

The boys swim-

ming gala started

off with a dance by

the boys of grade 6

and 7. All the

houses tried their

best to put a great

show. But in the

end Hornbills came

in first followed by

The Flamingos.

Parents also had the

chance to give away

the medals to their chil-

dren. More than 50

medals were given out

to the children. It was

not only the sports de-

partment who helped in

the gala but also the

art ,music and mainte-

nance department

helped with prepar-

ing the pool and gala.
