Easy to Use

There’s no need to sort or frank your international mail, as

we’ll do that for you. You simply place your unsorted mail

in the DHL packaging provided, attach a DHL Express

Waybill and it’s ready for collection.

Free Collections

Your international mail will be collected by your DHL

Express courier at the same time as your Express

shipments, so there’s no need to arrange a separate

collection or to take your mail to the Post Office. There’s

no additional charge for collections either.

One Account, One Invoice

You can use the same account for DHL GLOBALMAIL that

you use to send your Express shipments, and there’s also

no need for a separate invoice.

Reliable Delivery

Although DHL GLOBALMAIL does not offer the same

speed of delivery as other DHL Express services, it is a

‘Priority’ international mail service and offers the fastest

delivery available via the international mail network. Our

delivery aims are shown in the table below.

Express customers to send international mail items up to 2kg. It’s ideal for

sending letters and business correspondence, but it’s also suitable for low-value

goods where speed of delivery is not essential.

Global Coverage

You can use DHL GLOBALMAIL to send your international

mail to every country in the world. What’s more, there are

no additional costs when sending to remote areas.

Cost Effective

Our pricing is very competitive compared with other

international mail service providers, helping you to keep

costs to a minimum. It’s also important to note that

volumetric weight calculations do not apply to DHL

GLOBALMAIL – the actual weight is always used to

calculate the price.

Choice of Service Levels

When extra security is required, DHL GLOBALMAIL PLUS is

an international Registered Mail service offering

additional visibility during transit and a signature on

delivery – see panel for further details.

Free Return of Undeliverable Items

Items that cannot be delivered in the destination country

will be returned via the international mail network to our

International Mail Centre in Germany. Items are

consolidated and returned to you on a weekly basis, free

of charge.

DHL GLOBALMAIL PLUS

DHL GLOBALMAIL PLUS offers the following

additional features:

Signature on Delivery

The mail item will only be handed over to the

recipient once they have signed for it. Although it

is not possible to provide a copy of the signature,

the delivering postal authority will keep a record

on file and this can be used as proof of delivery in

the event of claims for missing items.

Status Updates

Each DHL GLOBALMAIL PLUS item contains a

barcode which allows status updates to be

generated. The status updates are:

n Data submitted – when the barcode label is created

n Processed sort facility – when the item is

received at the Deutsche Post International Mail

Centre in Germany

n Departed terminal – when the item departs from

the Deutsche Post International Mail Centre

n Arrived destination – when the item is received by

the postal authority in the destination country

n Delivered – when the item is delivered to

the recipient

Please note that the ‘Delivered’ status update is not

provided in all destination countries. For an up-to-

date list of countries where the ‘Delivered’ status

update is provided, please contact your DHL Express

Account Manager.

Compensation

Up to £30 in compensation can be claimed if a

DHL GLOBALMAIL PLUS item is lost or damaged.

IMPORTANT INFORMATIONDomestic/National Mail

It is not possible to send domestic/national mail items. The DHL

GLOBALMAIL service is only suitable for sending international mail.

Prohibited and Restricted Items

You are responsible for checking whether any items you send are

permitted for carriage in the international mail network. The list of

prohibited or restricted items sometimes varies from the regulations

which apply to other DHL Express services. If you are in any doubt,

please check with your DHL Express Account Manager.

Oversized or Overweight Items

Mail items which exceed the maximum dimensions and/or 2kg weight

limit cannot be forwarded through the international mail network.

These items will be returned to you at your expense using your

DHL Express Import account. To avoid unnecessary delays and costs,

please ensure that all mail items are within the specifications shown

in the table above.

Customs Declarations

International mail items being sent to a destination country outside the

EU must have a customs declaration label (CN22) affixed to the outside

of the envelope/packaging. We will provide you with CN22 labels or,

if you are using the Deutsche Post customer portal to create shipping

labels for your items, the CN22 will automatically be created.

WHAT CAN YOU SEND?DHL GLOBALMAIL is suitable for sending a wide range of international mail items, including correspondence, statements,

invoices, direct mail, catalogues and low-value goods. For pricing purposes, items are classified as Letters or Packets.

Letters Packets (including Rolls/Tubes)

Minimum dimensions 140mm x 90mm 140mm x 90mm Rolls/Tubes: Length + (2 x diameter) must be at least 170mm

Length must be at least 100m

Maximum dimensions 381mm x 305mm Length + width + height must not exceed 900mm

No dimension to exceed 600mm

Rolls/Tubes: Length + (2 x diameter) must not exceed 1040mm

Length must not exceed 900mm
