The File Review Process

A committee will automatically evaluate individual applicants based on:

– Rigor within the curriculum • Honors, AP, IB, and Dual Credit

• Additional math, science, or foreign language

– Grade point average – to give consideration for competitive schools

– SAT or ACT scores

– Extracurricular activities and/or resume

– Other factors indicated on applytexas

Applying to SFA:

The process

1. Submit Freshman Application– Starting July 1st via ApplyTexas

– $45 application fee or fee waiver*

2. Official high school transcript

3. Official SAT or ACT scores

*Applications are not processed for those who do not submit a fee or acceptable waiver

Alternate Routes for Admission

• If a student is not eligible for admission

they may pursue one of the following:

Success)

– Academic Opportunity Program

– Transfer into SFA

Transfer Admission

• Requirements:

– Complete 15 transferable

hours with a minimum GPA

of 2.0 from a regionally

accredited institution.

– Must not be academically

suspended from another

educational institution.

• Up to 66 hours can transfer in

from a community college (no

limit from a university)

• “Core Complete” applicants are

recognized by SFA
