Front CoverThis is the first screenshot of my music magazine front cover. My music magazine cover demonstrates going against the typical magazine conventions, as the cover lines are part of the background.

Using the programme, ‘Photoshop’ enabled me to create the background/cover lines for the front of my magazine.

Double page spread

Page 7: Development stages

This is at the first stage of development. The double page spread consists of the theme colours of red, yellow and white and the background colour of grey.

The screenshot on top left is demonstrating the first stages of development. The double page spread consists of the house style of red, yellow and white and the back ground being grey.

The image further down at the bottom on the left, is another stage of development. The original black font used for the quote, has now been changed to white and yellow, to help the quote stand out more to the readers.

Throughout the development stages, as well as having my draft work by the side of me, I also found that it helped placing some of my research of existing products within the same document of my work. Therefore I can see on screen, how my work compares to other resources/products and possibly take a few tips from them as I go. So in the example above, I used the contents page from the existing ‘VIBE’ magazine, and used the idea of centre position.

Throughout the development process, I used a variety of techniques to make sure my product was on top form. One of these techniques included drawing a straight line, using the ‘line tool’, and placing the line on the edge of my beginning headline. This therefore allowed me to clearly see the alignment of all the headlines and adjusting any that was not straight. This technique I personally believe is very effective and makes the work look very neat.

The screenshot on the left shows the results of using this successful technique.
