Major Components of the Project
• Road leading to the village was developed• A mud-colored gateway was erected at the village’s
entrance• A parking lot having capacity for 500 cars was
constructed • A nullah passing through the village was transformed
into a stream of clear water• Dilapidated commercial and residential units in the
village were demolished and reconstructed• Some of the village buildings were renovated
• The village has a Hindu temple and a Sikh shrine side by side. Both these buildings were given an uplift.
• Another building was converted into a photo gallery containing photographs of the village’s and Islamabad’s history.
• The temple initially housed a government high school. When the temple was to be renovated as a part of this project, another building for the school was constructed near the village.

Drawbacks
Lack of basic facilities • Villagers are unable to find space to park their vehicles• No supply of natural gas and health care facilities in the village
Safety and security • Entrances into the main village have been blocked• The threat of bomb blasts and other casualties might increase as well
Suggestions for Improvement

formulated for the opening of commercial outlets in the area
• Rules and regulations should also be formulated regarding the reconstruction and maintenance of houses and shop
• Compensation should be given to villagers
SECURITY CHECKS• Proper arrangements should be made to ensure the
security of the tourist spot • Security check points should be established in the village
MAINTENANCE• Sanitary staff should be engaged for the proper
maintenance of the tourist spot• An important improvement in the village can be a kids
playing area and a hiking track
CONCLUSION
•The village displays the real culture and tradition of Pakistan to the tourists
•But it should be maintained well by CDA
•The CDA must also fulfill its responsibility towards the residents
