In a world that is constantly changing, there is no one subject or set of subjects that will serve you for the
foreseeable future, let alone for the rest of your life. The most important life skill to
acquire now is learning how to learn.
~Bill Gates~

The Five levels of Leadership
Level 1: Position
This is the basic entry level of leadership. The only influence you have is that which comes with a title. People who stay at this level get into territorial rights, protocol, tradition, and organizational charts.
![Page 9: Developing the Leader Within You Leadership Matters - 2010.](https://reader035.fdocuments.net/reader035/viewer/2022062321/56649dce5503460f94ac1902/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
Level 2: Permission
“ Leadership is getting people to work for you when they are not obligated.”
“Leadership begins with the heart not the head”
People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
![Page 10: Developing the Leader Within You Leadership Matters - 2010.](https://reader035.fdocuments.net/reader035/viewer/2022062321/56649dce5503460f94ac1902/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
Level 3: Production
On this level things begin to happen, good things. Profit increases. Morale is high. Turnover is low. Needs are being met. Goals are being realized.
Fresh statistics are shared on a regular basis with the people who under grid the growth of the organization. Everyone is results oriented.

Level 4: People Development A true leader can be recognized because somehow
his people consistently demonstrate superior performances.
A leader is great, not because of his or her power, but because of his ability to empower others. Success without a successor is failure.

1. The Higher You Go, The longer it Takes.
2. The Higher You Go, The Higher the Level of Commitment.
3. The Higher You Go, The Easier it is to Lead.
4. The Higher you Go, the Greater the Growth.
5. You never Leave the Base Level.
