Successful participation in meetings in English
is often necessary for the progress within the
company.
Meetings are mostly held to discuss things.
Business English students should be aware of
the cultural differences in terms of etiquette and
turntaking patterns .

the rules and etiquettes of meetings:
Respect punctuality
Don’t leave while the meeting is taking place

The teacher may ask students questions suchas:

Do your managers ever ask you to discusssolutions to problems?

other party in order to:
Reach an understanding, resolve point of
difference, or gain advantage in outcome of
dialogue.
Satisfy various interests of two people/parties
involved in negotiation process.

Students need to:
Be aware of cultural differences when dealing

Faxes are well established means of communication in modern business .

A memo is a form of written business
communication.
Memos are passed internally within a
company.
Memos are serious documents,they should be
written carefully, they can affect the efficiency
of a company’s day-to-day business.
