swarm intelligence

It refers to the flow of concepts frombiology to engineering.

Bionics*

studying the Biona single unit of life / society and its behavior.

also studies the dynamics of basic life forms and how evolutionary pressure forces flaura and fauna to become highly optimised and efficient.

It looks at the social structure and systems withinliving organisms as well and borrows from behavioralpatterns within species.

Bionics* swarm intelligence / technologystudies the orgnisational principles from the socialbehavior of organisms.

Swarm intelligence (SI) is a type of artificial intelligencebased on the collective nature of self organised systems.

SI systems consist of simple structures called boids (units)which are a governed by a set of controls to display flockingtendencies within an environment.

a school of fishants people and socialnetworks

Swarm intelligence borrows from the foraging and swarming patterns of ants and bees.Ants emit pheromones to directother ants. Similarly simulatedboids record and send outtheir actions to emulate swarming

multiplicity / assimilation / adaptability / hive minds

Bionics* swarm robotics

Swarm robotics is a new approach to the coordination of multirobot systems which consist of large numbers of simple physical robots.

It is supposed that a desired collective behavior emerges from the interactions between the robots and interactions of robots with the environment.

-sensing tasks in micromachinery or the human body.-artists use swarm robotic techniques to realize new forms of interactive art.
