ABOUT DBW

DBW is Royal Spirit’s newly launched state-of-the-art manufacturing complex thatfocuses on producing a broad range of fashion items comprising both knit andwoven garments.

Situated in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, the 5-storey, 18,000 square meter DBWopened in 2016. The meticulously designed and constructed facility earnedPlatinum status under both the U.S. Green Building Council (LEED) and theVietnamese LOTUS accreditation system, making it Vietnam’s very first LEEDaccredited plant, designed with both systems’ standards.

DBW’s production lines see the incorporation of world-class machinery such asthe Framis Italia No So® thread-free sewing machines in tandem with Lean SingleFlow short lines system. The premises is also fitted with premium equipment fromStoll, Bullmer, and Düerkopp Adler.

It is the first factory in Vietnam to be conceived, designed and built to suchprogressive standards, further proving Royal Spirit’s trailblazer status in settingindustry standards in sustainability and eco-friendliness

ABOUT LOTUS PLATINUM ACCREDITATION

The Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC) is a program of Green Cities Fund, Inc., an international non-profit organization based inCalifornia, USA. VGBC was established in 2007 with an aim to raise awareness and build capacity for the development of greenbuilding in Vietnam.

VGBC has been officially recognized by the Ministry of Construction of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (March 2009) and also tookpart in the establishment of the WorldGBC Asia Pacific Network (Sept. 2009).

The mission:Mitigate: Facilitate green building and emission reductions in Vietnam.Educate: Educate key sectors on sustainable and climate-change adapted building.Adapt: Help adapt buildings and infrastructures in Vietnam to the potential impacts of climate change.

ABOUT LEED PLATINUM ACCREDITATION

U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) was established in 1993 by Rick Fedrizzi, David Gottfried and Mike Italiano, with a mission topromote sustainability-focused practices in the building industry.

Representatives from around 60 firms and several nonprofits gathered that April in the American Institute of Architects’ boardroom forthe founding meeting.

It was then that ideas were shared for an open and balanced coalition spanning the entire building industry and for a green building rating system, which would later become LEED.

Since the rating system’s unveiling in 2000, it has become an international standard for environmentally sound buildings, certifying hundreds of thousands of square feet per day.

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a green certification program for building design, construction, operationsand maintenance.
