Detachment and Happiness
art work in this tool for happiness is by Jose Alvarez & content based on al-anon principles of detachment
Detachment doesn’t mean you don’t care.
Detachment means you trust.
Detachment means you trust others and do not do for others what they can do for themselves.
You do not judge others.
You do not condemn others.
You do not give uninvited advise or instructions.
You do not rush in to save the day without being asked to do so.
Detachment means you
trust yourself to take care of you.
You do not allow others to abuse you with speech, actions or deeds.
You do not chastise yourself or make yourself suffer because of someone else’s speech, actions or deeds.
You do not take responsibility for someone else’s speech, actions or deeds or their ramifications.
Detachment means you see things as they really are.
Detachment means you are
objective about people and situations.
Detachment means you are
realistic about people and situations.
You do not create drama or seek out a crisis.
You do not prevent a crisis someone else is creating if it is the natural course of events.
When you are realistic and objective…
