Why Brunel?

Once you have arrived at Brunel University, you will notice that it has a great studentcommunity that is quite unique in London. A lot of London universities are scattered aroundthe city, whereas at Brunel you get the best of both worlds: close proximity to London and agreat modern campus that creates a real sense of belonging amongst the students.

The university is located in Uxbridge which is part of the London Borough of Hillingdon. Thetown centre is a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute ride by bus. Here you will find many shopsincluding some big supermarkets and plenty of food outlets. Uxbridge is also at the end oftwo tube lines (the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines) serving as great transport links intoCentral London.

Hi, I’m Anas Darkaoui from Syriastudying MA Children Youth andInternational Development.Uxbridge is a safe and friendly residential areawith some beautiful green parks and lakesaround. The high street is 5 minutes by bus or ashort 15 minutes walk from campus with twoshopping malls, a library, supermarkets, manyrestaurants and bars to choose from, and amulti-screen cinema. Last Christmas we even hadan ice rink! Those who like swimming like me canenjoy an Olympic-sized pool at Hillingdon Sportcentre only 5 minutes from the high street. Theunderground station in Uxbridge takes you toCentral London in 40 minutes via two differentlines and there is a night bus for those who enjoya night out. Uxbridge is conveniently locatedclose to central London yet still distant enough toallow students to focus on their studies.
