– Solid & proven foundation in engineering education

– Take advantage of our history; open day, website, DVD etc Show respect and appreciation for the work carried out by staff

in the past; our colleagues & friends Moral responsibility to preserve the story of the school and its

people for future generations

What are we doing? Collect, catalogue and preserve

– Material such as books, articles, reports, prospectuses, photographs etc

– Electronic hardware; test equipment, valves, tubes etc Room 416 – archival room Contact people inside and outside the school

– Retired staff– Current staff & past students– CDVEC

Search DIT library, National Archives, Newspaper archives Visitor’s book, Display Cabinets A written chronological story of the school

leaflets, brochures Photographs Stories Speak to friends, family and colleagues Keep your ears and eyes open

Today is tomorrows history Project has no definite end date Process in place to record and archive the school’s current

position on an on-going basis   Leave OUR story behind for future generations DIT has a moral responsibility to record and preserve the history

of the institute Project may give DIT the impetus to initiate an institute wide

program to record and save an important part of Dublin’s educational and SOCIAL history
