ASSEMBLE!HERE’S HOW: Trim out the 2 pieces that form your papercraft as indicated. Don’t forget to cut the color-coded assembly slots in this piece (indicated with color pointers).

ME-KI TIKI SLEEVE: How the heck do you cut out the eye and mouth holes without spearing your hands? Easy! First, mountain fold the sleeve vertically right down the middle of the nose. Then cut away the black area of the mouth and they eyes as shown below! (You can cut right across the bridge of the nose to get to the eye with one horizontal cut – it won’t be noticed in the final display.)

TOP-VIEWPROGRESSION: AFTER you have cut out the eyes and mouth, mountain fold the sleeve in vertically in two other places as indicated (the black line to the left and right of the ME-KI TIKI’s face). From a top view you will be forming a square pillar. Gently insert the color-coded slots into each other to secure the shape closed. This is an exclusive Desktop Gremlins connection method called “the zipper!” Loose ends stay OUTSIDE the square shape to keep the inner chamber clear.

THE EXPRESSIONS CARTRIDGE: Cut out your MI-KI TIKI “expressions cartridge” and roll it into a vertical cylinder that’s a little smaller than the open end of your square MI-KI TIKI sleeve. (The name/logo portion on the right side of the expressions cartridge rolls INSIDE the tube you are forming.) Insert the expressions cartridge into the sleeve and when you let the cartridge go, it will unfurl to fit the sleeve! Align the cartridge and sleeve to expose your expression of choice. Reposition the expression cartridge to match your feelings, anytime a new mood strikes!
