The Midtown is a bright, dimmable LED recessed light fixture, low-profile enough for a wide range of installations. ETL approved for dry and damp locations, the Midtown is suitable in restrooms, showrooms, elevators, reception areas, and other home, hospitality, or commercial settings. Each fixture is comparable in brightness to a 50 Watt halogen down light.

The Midtown LED recessed light is made in the USA. The LEDs are designed for optimum lumen maintenance while withstanding the stress of high temperatures and operating currents. This is further supported by LED Waves’ exclusive heat sink, which promotes cooling airflow to add years to the life of the unit. Each recessed light comes with a line voltage LED driver for easy installation in your ceiling. For dimming, select the dimmable driver option.

Product characteristics The extrusion is made from high quality, double-anodized aluminum and designed for flexible or rigid LED strips of a width not exceeding 6 mm (KRAV-56 with 5mm thick glass), 8 mm (KRAV-56 with 6mm thick glass) or 10,8 mm (KRAV-810). Thanks to its unique shape it is ideal for edge lighting of glass panes or plastics 5-6 mm (KRAV-56) or 8-10 mm (KRAV-810) thick. It consists of two extrusions, KRAV-D (adapted for the mounting of LED strips) and KRAV-Z (closing extrusion) fitted with double-sided mounting tape and a silicone cord ensuring a good connection of the extrusions after they have been mounted. Clamping of the glass or plastic is achieved by mounting the two extrusions to the glass and pressing them in an even manner. Accessories for the extrusion are dedicated standard end caps made of polypropylene (one set for one side of the extrusion is KRAV-D and KRAV-Z). The KRAV-D end cap has a ‘groove’, and the KRAV-Z end cap has a “pocket” to fill the gap that appears when mounting thicker panels. The end caps can be fitted both before and after the extrusions have been mounted on the panel. In the latter case, KRAV-D end cap is fixed first. The application of the end caps is supposed to protect the extrusion against the ingress of dust and undesirable particles that may cause contamination of the LED strip, degrading the lighting parameters. KRAV extrusion is not a construction profile. Therefore, assembly, suspension or other technical activities related to the panels should be performed using standard elements.

Applications The extrusion with the LED light source is used in edge lighting of glass panes or plastics. It is also ideal for lighting signs, inscriptions and logos. In addition, this extrusion can be used for making lighting fixtures based on the method of edge backlighting used in kitchens and living rooms, as well as galleries and museums.
