“You know that the importance of education and the right
type of learning cannot be over-emphasized.Under
foreign rule for over a century, in the very nature of things, I
regret, sufficient attention has not been paid to the
education of our people, and if we are to make any real,
speedy and substantial progress, we must earnestly tackle
this question and bring our education policy and program
on the lines suited to the genius of our people, consistent
with our history and culture, considering the modern

Message from the
Muhammad Ali Jinnah
Quaid-e-Azam
I feel very pleased and exalted when I find myself heading an organization like Aziz
Fatimah Medical & Dental College Faisalabad. Its performance, since its inception in
2011, has been excellent. Its growth and glory are vivid evidence of the efforts done by
its management, faculty and students. We all have laid the foundation of an institution
with the vision to excel in medical field and provide unparalleled health services to the
community at large. I appreciate the untiring and un-matched efforts of all those
associated to AFMDC in any capacity and at any position. The man, ever since his
creation, has been aspiring and struggling to measure the limits of this universe, on the
one hand, and calculate and utilize the ultimate faculties of his own mind on the other.
The wonders done so far, in all fields of life, by this super creature of the Almighty are
the outcome of healthy human mind dwelling in healthy bodies. Maladies, since the
first day, have been a continuous and disastrous threat to human health which not only
hamper the routine growth and working of an individual but also prohibit the
advancement and progression of a nation on the whole. Undoubtedly, the most
researched and explored field of study, in human history, remains the study of human
health, and centuries ago it had assumed the shape of a defined science. In the modern
era, the fruits of the health researchers are being passed on to the ailing by the healthy
administrators, physicians and surgeons. Aziz Fatimah Medical & Dental College
welcomes the 8th batch of MBBS students. It is heartening to note that this institution
has established its name and fame by imparting quality education not only in terms of
formal professional education but also has endeavoured in character building of the
future doctors. I do hope that with the arrival of new batch the vision, aims and
objectives as perceived at the time of foundation would be fulfilled. I do hope that you
will make all efforts to gain knowledge with its full application and prove to be a worthy
citizen of this country. May Allah guide you and us in future nation building. Aameen. In
the end, I assure my all-out help and support to AFMDC.

Our body is nothing short of an amazing machine. No machine ever constructed can perform even a minutest body-like function as
effectively as our bodies can do. Physiology aims to understand the fascinating mechanisms of our body. Human physiology studies how
our cells, muscles and organs work together, how they interact. Physiology, sometimes referred to as “the science of life”, looks at living
mechanisms from molecular basis of cell function to the whole integrated behavior of the entire body. Our shared vision is to develop high
quality professionals to pursue the excellence in the field of medicine and surgery.
Our mission here at the department of Physiology AFMDC is
To provide theoretical and practical knowledge/skills through quality teaching.
To provide standard education and practical skills and to impart undergraduate students a quality education to cope up with the
international standards.

Learning Methods
Education is a process whereby a student is transformed into a self learner. Educational objectives are taken as the learning objectives rather
than the teaching objectives. The objective of MBBS curriculum is to prepare a general medical practitioner and community oriented
doctor, competent to deal with common health problems of people on scientific basis as laid down by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council.
Essential quality of educational objectives is, therefore, its relevance to the health needs of the society. We are Gradually moving from
conventional teaching methology.
The students are fully exposed to the social and cultural environments. Hence, they learn the important elements of community life and
relationship of these elements with the health related factors and activities. They apply their knowledge of social and cultural aspects to
find the solutions of community health problems. They carefully and keenly listen to the words the patients speak, to express their physical
problems and then scientifically analyze it.
They also serve as epidemiological surveyors of the diseases prevalent in the community. Accordingly, greater emphasis is laid on teaching
areas of basic as well as clinical subjects related to common diseases. Change is the end result of all true learning. Our educational strategy
covers the curriculum of studies for MBBS, as laid down by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council and the University of Health Sciences,
Lahore.
