Word hospitality is derived from Latin word “ hopes” meaning stranger. So hospitality implies compensation and equalizing a strange and guide him to next destination.

• A resort is a destination by itself. In a resort one experiences relaxation or recreation.
• But hotels are more functional buildings. A lodging facilities and is like a home away from home.
• Whereas club is a place which recluse its user from busy urban routine. The user are frequent and repeated visitors.
Aim:To study about the different classes of hospitality buildings and to acknowledge the design requirement of each of them.
Objectives:•To distinguish between the different buildings for hospitality.•Study the different design strategies involved in each of the buildings to enhance the comfort of its user and to formulate the same.•To implement the design strategies in the thesis.Relevance of seminar:•The seminar will help distinguish between different hospitality buildings as well as will guide to develop a better design for the same.
Scope and limitation:
•The seminar concentrates at the design aspect of the hospitality buildings, the structural elements are not considered.•The analysis, strategies and conclusion is derived from the study of various secondary sources and are qualitative in nature.
Characteristics features •Psychological fulfillment more than physical comfort•timeless attribute of space-nature quickly associable

3) Retreat Resorts Located in remote areas for isolated vacation environment. Like small island etc.

•primary feature are exotic, service, architecture and design.•Themes are applied and might vary from room to room.•services in a comfortable, intimate, and welcoming setting•Entertainment in boutique hotels is an important dynamic.•Boutique hotels are entertainment in its own nature: a hip restaurant, lounge, and bar; an exceptional theme; and visually spectacular decorations.
Business resorts:
•Located in resort city.•A hybrid of hotel cum resort•Provides facility of rooms, cottages, conventional facility.•These are bigger and imposing buildings with major facility inside.•Stepped profile•Generally follows traditional architectural style.•Capturing views.

•Recluse from the busy urban routine•Repeatedly visited •To be with nature and fellow human beings•Facility that you personally wish to avail in daily/weekly routine •Singular theme could not satisfy multiple demands•Nature as outdoors, as landscape, as water or the light; and society as spontaneous activity and people to people chemistry.
