Wichita Falls, TX, while Vane went to worked in Korea and Thailand in 1966. He returned

United Nations. They moved to Arlington, TX, and opened a custom jewelry business. He

She rode the bus one summer from Texas to visit her sister Levia Taylor Moore in Bandon,

OR, where she lived with her daughter Alpha Moore Campbell and husband Robert "Bob"

Campbell. Jewel sent home a box of seashells, glass floats from Japanese nets, and a stone out

of a pendant which they had repolished and reset in 1961 at Bandon, OR.

She broke her leg and was forced to retire from Burnet ISD because of her age in 1962. She

then taught school at Barstow, TX, until she had a stroke and returned to Burnet, where she

died on 21 Nov 1969 at age 78.

(11) Charles Jenkins Taylor was born on 28 May 1894 at Carlton, Hamilton Co., TX. He5

began military service in 1916 at TX in Texas National Guard during the Pancho Villa Revolution.

He began military service on 24 Apr 1917 served in U.S. Navy, World War I, his rank was Chief

Water Tender. He went through basic training at Great Lakes Naval Training Center and served

on the U.S.S. Annapolis to Havana, Cuba, and Tampico Bay, Mexico. They also went to France



for some reason, but that wasn't their normal area of patrol. Several of his father's friends and

relatives signed a petition to keep him out of the service.

He married Leona Mills, a school teacher, daughter of Jeff Mills Jr. and Ida P. ____, between

1926 and 1928 at McCamy, Upton Co., TX. Leona died abt 1945 at Burnet. He married Alice
