In 1925 – the inadequacy of basic education curriculum was already observed

Learners learn to read more quickly when in their first language
Pupils who learned to read and write in their first language learn to speak, read and write in a second language and third language
Pupils acquire competencies in terms of cognitive development more quickly

Research show that:
MT- shall be the medium of instruction and a
subject from Grades 1 to 3 shall be used for all social and learning
activities, critical thinking, and creative development (across all grade levels )
and for storytelling, beginning reading and writing (grades 2 -3)
