ANNUAL CELEBRATION OF THE NATIONAL BIBLE WEEK OF THE PHILIPPINE BIBLE SOCIETY

The Philippine Bible Society (PBS) will conduct the Annual Celebration of the National BibleWeek (NBW) from January 22 to 28, 2018. This is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 124, datedJanuary 5, 2017, “Declaring the Month of January of Every Year as National Bible Month Culminating in theLast Week Thereof as National Bible Week.”

The PBS, together with a wide network of schools, churches, organizations, and institutions fromdifferent sectors of society, carries out its mission of making the Bible known to realize its vision of “ATransformed Philippines Through God’s Word.”

All personnel and staff of the Department of Education from the central, regional and schools divisionoffices, and both public and private elementary and secondary schools, including the attached agencies of theDepartment, and other educational institutions are invited to participate in the Celebration by organizingdifferent events such as: Bible reading, study, quizzes, and parades, Bible exhibits, fun runs, poster/sloganmaking and essay writing contests, and other events which portray the significance of the Bible in oursociety.

Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject t the no-disruption-of-casses policy stipulated in Deped OrderNo. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
