Transcript of Departure Lounge France Magazine June 2015
I would enjoy a scrumptious
French pastry and a cup of
coffee.
This month we ask a reader,
a FRANCE contributor and a professional
about their love of France
Marian Hill
Weston, Bath
Ray Kershaw,
Harrogate, North
Yorkshire
Natalie Hall
P&O Ferries, Dover
What was your last travel experience in France?
Who would be your perfect French dinner guest?
On what would you spend your last €10?
My grand-mère; she was
great company and I loved
her food. Also, she lived
through World War II in Lille,
where she met and married
my English grandfather who
was serving in the British
Expeditionary Force.
Exploring the spectacular
Bugey – maybe France’s
best-kept secret – in the
Ain département:
mountains, rivers, lakes
and historic villages.

I would invite Gérard
Depardieu. From Jean de
Florette to Le Placard, I think
I’ve seen every film he’s made.

It would have to
be Marion
Cotillard as
I think she is
a wonderful
actress and
she would
have some
interesting
stories. My husband Peter and I went
back to Paris, where we
revisited one of my favourite
museums, Victor Hugo’s house
on the pretty Place des Vosges.
A weekend in beautiful, sunny
Le Touquet last year. We took
the coastal route from Calais,
which is lovely, and makes the
drive a more pleasurable
experience.
Bread and fresh pastries from
the village of Hébuterne near
to where my parents live.
I would go for some tins of
gourmet sardines produced by
Connétable in Brittany or
Gendreau in the Vendée.
